Very interesting - It's odd that HD say that there was no incident, and Jersey Harbours say there was :S

Well HD1 has been in collision with berthed Condor vessels in Jersey Harbour at least twice that I know about so perhaps that was the reason. Are HD ferries captains just incompetent or are they trying to sink Condor Express?! Anyway HD Ferries are sailing once more...

Interesting...
But what does the Bahamas Maritime Authority have to do with it?

Why is it that lots of Fastcraft are registered in Nassau? Is it for tax reasons or something?

Flag of covnenience - as you say for tax reasons - fuel duty can be kept down. Also by doing this, some government regulations can be avoided. Crews with lower-wages can also be hired. Mainly with fastcraft it is most likely to be the fuel duty.

Erm, duty isn't charged on fuel used in international voyages (applies to ships and aircraft). It's corporate tax that it avoids, along with laws (eg smoking bans, minimum wage and so forth)... Outsourcing crews has little to do with flags though...
