Title: New ship for P&O

There have been many recent rumours about P&O purchasing the ex Midnight Merchant recently, and these now seem to be true as it is said and announcement was made to P&O crew today about it. She will be renamed European Endeavour for Dover freight services.

Hi,
This information I have just received from a friend is that the fleet was informed of this announcement this afternoon.
The El Greco will be re-named European Endeavour and will sail under the Red Ensign with a British crew. She is due to be delivered and start operating out of Dover in September. (I presume this is to release the Seaway so she can finally have her engine repaired).
My source has also stated that the vessel will cover refits at both Hull and Cairnryan, So it sounds like P&O have got themselves a flexible friend.....

Nice to see an addition to the fleet - I guess this is the first of many changes planned by DP World :)

The BBC did a press release about this ship on the 28th June. I will endeavour (no pun intended) to find it and post it on the site.

Yep - this will make a fantastic freight ship for both Dover-Calais and the Hull routes.
The facilities it offers (cafe,cabins,etc) are great for freighters - just not as great for full pax service (Norfolk Line...)
Really looking forward to my Norfolk Line trip in August - anyone got any ideas on what the new trio are like?
