IOMSPCo. have published the charter list for the upcoming TT races. The vessels to be chartered are:
Stena Caledonia
P&O Express
Hoburgen
Moondance/Riverdance.
They will run alongside the SPCo's Emeraude France, Superseacat Two and Ben-my-Chree.
Will the Stena Caledonia fit inside Douglas Harbour?
...and whats the deal with Moondance and Riverdance? Are they going to cover the Ben or something?
It also appears that Cobelfret's Phocine has been chartered. Quite what freighters are needed for I don't know...

Thinking about it more, it makes perfect sense. Over the 2 week TT period, the island sees a huge increase in population - something in the region of an extra 50,000 people. As well as the need to transport the people, they also need food, water, supplies, waste disposal e.t.c.
To give you an idea of the scale, I have been informed that the Le Mans 24 Heures, a mere 3 day event compared to the 2-week TT, needs over 300 trailers of food and drink for the extra population.
Therefore, to provide the supplies, Phocine, Hoburgen, Moondance and Riverdance are needed to work with the Ben/Caledonia.
