Title: Asatru Wedding
Aoife the Celt - April 27, 2006 06:58 PM (GMT)
Stormarksgothi,
Have you ever attended an Asatru wedding in real life?

Stormarksgothi,
If you were going to marry in real life would you choose to marry in an Asatru ceremony?
Thorfinn - May 1, 2006 01:18 PM (GMT)
I'm afraid that my future wife would have some say in that.
My current fiancee...assuming we do end up getting married eventually...probably wouldn't care much what kind of ceremony we had...but, you never know.

Good Afternoon To You, My Gentle Friends,
Well, details of the ceremonial rites are VERY important, regardless of the religious background of the couple . . .
Even if a couple is married by a Justice of the Peace in His Chambers, that is still a choice of rites - albiet a legal rite over a religious one . . .
But, that is just one decision of many which an engaged couple must make as to their wedding . . .
Have a most thoughtful afternoon . . . forthwith . . .

Stormarksgothi,
Is your fiancée also an Asatruar?
Thorfinn - May 3, 2006 12:55 PM (GMT)
No, she isn't. She is...well, something like an agnostic eclectic pagan...meaning that she doesn't necessarily believe in any deity/deities, but has strong pagan leanings.

Good Afternoon To You, Crown Prince Thorfinn,
Then, I take it, that You and Your Beloved have many qualities in common . . .
That is definitely a good sign . . .
Have a most thoughtful afternoon . . . forthwith . . .
