It is very good and well done to Balmain for putting the promotion on again. Hopefully it will be well supported by all. I assume the two Wests V Balmain Junior Reps games will also be on there.
No doubt Balmain will be keen to extract revenge for last year.
Big day for Magpies fans with the AGM on in the morning then three wins at Birchgrove. ;)

Was the best day of footy last year. Even better this year if the juniors are going to play before hand. Can't wait for it. Dry Dock Hotel or Balmain Leagues for post match celebrations?
Magpie - March 8, 2009 11:03 PM (GMT)
Will the Wests Ashfield bus be available to take people to the game after AGM???
Andrew Waite - March 9, 2009 01:34 AM (GMT)
That's a good question Magpie. I'll find out.
Andrew Waite - March 9, 2009 04:50 AM (GMT)
Balmain have confirmed that all three games are on at Birchgrove starting with Harold Matthews at 12:00. Three grades like the old days = footy as it was meant to be. Can't wait.

can we wear or jerseys and stuff to the AGM?
yomi - March 15, 2009 02:53 AM (GMT)
You would think Balmain will be primed for a big one . Coach Epifania doesn't seem the type not to be ready for that , i'm sure he will have the boys prepared for an attempted ambush . Players like Waters , Gallant and Skando arn't silly either . Should be another good day for both great clubs .
galahs - March 15, 2009 02:58 AM (GMT)
Will be a cracker! I can't wait.

The key themes for the event will be to raise money through donations for ‘Victorian Fire Victims’ the Leichhardt Oval ladies will be around the grounds with buckets seeking community support. We are also launching for the State Cup the new interclub trophy being the “O’Neill Skandalis Shield”. The Shield will be presented back at the club and would ask all State Cup players/Staff to head to Balmain Leagues Club for the post match and be there by 6.00pm in support of speeches that have been scheduled to fit in with half time of the NRL match being aired at the Leagues Club, before the Wests Tigers v Cowboys match scheduled for 7.30pm kick-off. Balmain Leagues Club – Mini Bus transfer As a reference a mini-bus will run from the Balmain Leagues Club to Birchgrove Oval and continue this loop from 2.00pm to 5.30pm. |
So get to Birchgrove to watch Skando win his own shield, then back to Balmain to celebrate.

Kevin has confirmed that if you wish to wear your jersey to the AGM that will be fine so long as you are otherwise suitably attired and the jersey is in good repair and appearance. The door staff will be so advised.
Also the Wests Ashfield bus will be available to take people down to Birchgrove after the AGM.
