NEW MAGPIE DIEHARDS RULES. :magpies:
FOR PEOPLE INTRESTED IN GOING TO THE GAMES.

1.YOU MUST BE A FOOTBALL CLUB MEMBER.
2.MEMBERS MUST ATTEND 3 GAMES AT LEAST.(unless you are interstate or bush)
3.YOU MUST BE BLACK AND WHITE TO THE CORE. :magpies:

I always encourage supporters to become members, but I think it would be a mistake to have a supporters group that insisted on it. You want to encourage as many people as possible to come to games and join together to cheer the side on. A blanket insistence on membership discourages those who don't want to make that commitment. Sure you should encourage people to sign up, but let's first get them to the games and cheering on the Mighty Magpies!

My suggestion is like the AFL Cheersquads. You get a Cheersquad membership. Gets you entry to the matches, cap/shirt/whatever and makes you part of the club (I.E. into sheds after matches, etc like that.

Say its 30 for membership - make it $40 for diehards membership, that gives you membership if the club, plus into the Diehards.

All I konow is something is better than nothing and at least this is something.

If people want to go and sit on Diehards Hill, then so be it and they should be alowed to, but if they want the shirt/hat/whatever that goes with it then they pay their money and join! Also, maybe work out a 5% discount for diehards members to goto away matches on a minibus or something? Just thoughts!

I would never turn away a Magpie supporter no matter what. If they want to see the Magpies do well, that is all that is important in my eyes.

That's it exactly. No barriers - just get to the game, get into a group, and put a huge tail wind of cheering behind the team.

Go for it guys, but like I say, if someone made a sweet shirt - then Im sure people wouldnt mind paying a few dollars for it thats all Im getting at!

On another note, Hopefully there will be some really cheap sale fares with Bargearse Airlines shortly so I can book a flight for August some time...

Yep, fair enough.

It might be an idea worth purshuing. Getting some supporters casual and street wear merchandise going.

I've noticed teams like Newtown, Panthers, Roosters and Souths have really got into the hard edged street wear market. A distinct product that doesn't scream out "Rugby League Merchandise"

I've always been black and white, right through the mid 50's to now.Had I have lived in Sydney I would love to have played during the 60's with all the greats (if I had been good enough) or even in lower grades.Today I always go to the Cowboys to see West Tigers with the emphasis on West part.I was a bookmakers clerk some years and at a big country cup race meeting in Mid North West Queensland looking over the punters I noticed one in a Western Suburbs shirt wandering through the crowd and was I delighted to see this person. So we are all over....Black and White forever.......Cheers 14 Wests
