Title: Our Home NSW Cup games on Saturdays
galahs - March 1, 2009 09:46 AM (GMT)
I had a look at the draw on
http://www.nswrl.com.au and it appears that most of our NSW Cup games at Campbelltown are at 3pm on a Saturday. Is this a deliberate act?
Is so I like it :correct: Its good when you know when games will be. Lets you plan your weekends better. Especially for those that need to travel to the game. (Like poor old me)
Its works for Newtown.

We tried to do the same last year. Generally only played away from 3pm Saturday if the ground wasn't available.

Cambo will be closed for renovations by mid-season. Maybe Concord after that????

Only the Western side will be closed. Council minutes state that there is no reason why Wests NSW Cup and Campbelltown Bundy Cup games can't be played at the stadium.

Perhaps Hillier , We could possibly run a B.B.Q and a Bar. Not only that but size of ground would suit size of our crowds , creating a much better Home ground advantage and atmosphere.

Concord is a much better place to watch football if we aren't going to have use of the stand at Orana. Having said that I'd watch football at Pratten Park every week if I could!

Perhaps if the Council has no problems with it, and local sporting clubs in the area are not utilising the premises, Pratten could be used for a few games. Now, I'm not one who likes to see Rugby League taken away from the Macarthur area at any level or Grade, but in the scenario of the re-development of Campbelltown Sports Ground, it seems Western Suburbs has no choice. Pratten proved to be a great day out last year regardless of the weather and the result. Nostalgia at its very best. Perhaps 4 Games at Concord, 4 at Pratten and 4 at Lidcombe anyone? (Dreaming aren't I?)
Cogger72 - March 6, 2009 07:51 PM (GMT)
A tear would definitely begin to well in the eye if i was able to walk thru the brick entrance at Lidcombe for a Maggies match one more time, but i don't think its going to happen lol.
Personally would love that break up of games but, apart from Concord, it doesnt really address the problem of no decent sized covered stand and facilities.

Isn't half the Eastern Stand at Campbelltown under cover ?
Andrew Waite - March 6, 2009 11:05 PM (GMT)
We'll generally be playing at Campbelltown along with East Campbelltown. Looking into a game at Pratten, but very very early days so nothing to report on that.
moshmagpie - March 7, 2009 06:31 AM (GMT)
So does that mean we will play at Campbelltown while they renovate? :dunno:
