My wife & I stayed at a self-catering "across the wall" this year that we loved. It's called
Scotchcoulthard, and is a series of terraced self-catering buildings all attached to a working farm. Very private, very clean, and quite reasonable. The only downside is that it's quite remote--it's at the very end of a 4-mile one-lane track snaking through working fields. But they've got a pool, laundry room, and a pot-bellied pig that wanders around the backyard in the mornings. More than made up for it in our book. :)
