I have two words for bonekickers....Bloody Rubbish.

This page on the BBC news website makes interesting reading...Digging the Dirt

Some of the reader comments are pretty interesting too.

I confess I haven't watched it at all yet, so must reserve judegement until I do. Having seen the adverts on TV and reading the Radio Times doesn't give me much hope though...

I talked about the Dovecote at Garway as featured in episode one for a seminar I did for my degree (I kid you not) And to think it stands on the site of the remains of the one true cross. Hope my tutors didn't mark me down for failing to mention that!

Are you quite sure you DIDN'T mention it, thus creating an urban myth picked up on by writers for the BBC?! :D
Sadly I have missed all of the episodes due to rehearsals and meetings and cannot bring myself to download any of them on BBC I-Player. My computer does weird thing every time I try!

This is definately something to avoid. Although it is very amusing, perhaps they should have sold it as a comedy rather than a drama.

So you don't see it attracting hordes of people to volunteer next year then? Or do you expect them to come along and find amazing things?
Has anyone seen the advert for T-mobile with the archaelogists discarding amphorae etc in favour of looking for more free minutes? Think its T-mobile, but it could be something else.. <_<

Sweet....Jesus.....Christ! And there I was thinking it couldn't get any worse than honest-to-God Roman hand grenades! And then this week they produced the classic line "Get back in your room there is a killer snake....." and the sweet innocent child the saviour of all! I almost threw something at the TV!

I have seen a total of about two minutes of the programme and it is something akin to 'Eldorado' meets 'Relic Hunter' meets a 1950s B movie. Shll not be tuning in to that one anymore.
Does anyone like it? Perhaps they should have got Ricky Gervaise to star in it?
:(

Is it just me or did anyone else think the snake from last nights episode looked like Kaa the Snake from "The Jungle Book"..

Brave man Alex...admitting that you still watch it ;)

Sue Munro - August 3, 2008 03:18 PM (GMT)
Nothing wrong with Jungle Book. Although Snow White is better......

The BBC have come to their senses and axed 'Bonekickers'. We can relax now without the public thinking archaeologists are wierd LOL ! or then again ........ perhaps we are?

Alas, with 10+ years of Phil Harding in those Spice Girl shorts, I think our collective reputation is sealed.
