I enjoyed talking to the visitors, some of the young ones are quite amusing.
One young lad, looking at the excavation, explained what the stones were, pointing out a doorway and stone steps. A future volunteer.
Another family approached, father saying "Wow this is real Time Team" and to me "How do mate, how ya doin" They were Australian & watch TT at home.Justin showed pieces of pot & allowed the boy to hold some. "Real Romans were last to use this, look you can still see their porridge on it!" If only I'd had my camera.

Birds-eye view from the replica turret (10th Apr) Justin's area, working north for the next five years. Look no shed.

Passageway between the two granary(?) walls, note the supporting buttresses.
"Sexy walls" said Andrew. Albert explained, "I think it's because of the frilly bits around the bottom" (4th Apr)

East wall of the first granary, very impressive stonework. The raised floor, to ventilate grain, is just below the turf level. (10th Apr)

Those walls are amazing - they look in better condition than a lot of new builds popping up where I live!
What a shame our wall wasn't there in week one! :(
