Hi everyone I should think Justin wishes we had unblocked more of the drains and ditches in area B and found some in area A for Andy. Hope the weather is improving, well it is nearly summer, isn't it?

For some reason my message was cut short. I feel sorry for the poor souls over the last couple of weeks but it is nice to see them smiling on the team photos. Keep emptying out the water and keep your heads up.

Is diving gear recommended for the trench-side talks at the Friends Evening on Saturday?Or will a snorkle suffice?

Hi Folks,

The month of June has seen some of the worst weather the country has known, and the poor trenches at Vindolanda are no exception. The volunteers and staff have endured a torrid time, with quite a few days of pot washing and other activities. We have lost two day this week to the weather, we just hope that things pick up sooner rather than later.

Most trenches have to be pumped out in the mornings, with area B flooding quickly, and area A now below the water table. Still, we knew that the water table was going to be a problem, so we are as prepared as possible. As for Saturday evening, the forcast is very unsettled, so come prepared just encase!
