( yeah, i know that in them fierystar is a god, thats 'cuz when i first made fierystar up she was a god. then i started using it as a nickname, and besides, i made her up because im a shrimp, gotta do what everyone says, and she doesn't. -_- )

Draconic legends – The great battle of Ziraa

It was once a beautiful planet, was Ziraa. All manner of creature used to roam there, on poor Ziraa. Poor, poor Ziraa. This tale tells about Ziraa, and the great battle that swept across it, destroying all its beautiful meadows, drying up its sparkling lakes, and causing its trees to wither away.
It happened so suddenly. No one was prepared, not even the winged wolves, and they normally knew everything that was going on. One moment the creatures were happily running around, the next, screaming and screeching as darkness descended on Ziraa.
The dragons instantly gathered, drawing together, getting into defense formation, as was their natural reaction to a threat. But there had not been a threat for so long… they hadn’t bothered to train any new warriors up. It was obvious. If this really was a true threat, the creatures of Ziraa were doomed.
A black cloud moved across the skies of Ziraa. The dragons tensed. The cloud flapped. Wait… flapped? It was true. The cloud was flapping across the sky. It was not a cloud, but a dense gathering of small shadow dragons. Many winged wolves bundled their pups into the underground caves at this point. The battle trained ‘wolves got in line, and bared vicious fangs. The shadow dragons mocked them, flying high above them and screaming with cruel laughter. The ‘wolves snarled in response. The tension was building. If the shadow dragons were here… who was their master?
They were soon to find out. With an excited screech, the shadow dragons wheeled round in the air and flew back, twisting round again to land. More of them were diving down from above wispy white clouds. Soon there were almost a million of them screaming and shoving each other on the ground, hurling abuse at each other. Then all fell silent. To the ‘wolves, this was more frightening than the constant screeching, as it meant there was something powerful enough to frighten all of the shadow dragons into silence. And that was no mean feat, believe me!
The skies grew dark. Deep black clouds gathered from nowhere, swirling round in black skies. Suddenly, two huge red eyes glowed bright in the darkness. Jet black flames flickered within the eyes, scaring the fur off of the winged wolves. They whimpered, cowering before the terrifying spectacle before them. For this was a nightmare dragon. A huge, immense creature of the night that was so tall, it was slightly bigger than the tallest of the things humans call skyscrapers! But this was not any ordinary nightmare dragon. This was a half breed. It was an ultimate shadow nightmare dragon, and, even more frightening, it was the one that went by the name of the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord was well-known as the cruellest of all dragons. He had been created by two escaping spirits, dark spirits from the great dragon god, Fierystar, and they were extremely powerful spirits.
And now he was here. The ‘wolves cowered, tails between legs, but still they stood their ground. Even when He placed a great claw upon the ground before them, they did not waver. They glared up at Him, defying His will for them to Get Out Of The Way Now. He glared back at them, then lifted the claw. For a moment it seemed the ‘wolves had won. Just for a moment though. The Dark Lord moved his claw away, then brought it forwards quickly, smashing through the ‘wolves defenses, scattering them with one powerful swipe. Many ‘wolves died in that instant, before the battle had even begun. For this was the beginning of The Great Battle of Ziraa!

thats the first page. ;) i might post a bit more, but for now, that all. im definitley not posting it all, cuz' i might just be thinking about finding out if it can be published.... ^_^

That's pretty good ^^ When's the next part?

fierystar - March 31, 2007 08:08 PM (GMT)
okies. next page ( most im showing will be about 5 pages, other than that, i'll leave it to your imaginations! ^ ^ )

page two :

The Dark Lord withdrew for a while after that. He had struck the first blow. Now He would wait and see if the challenge was accepted, if the creatures of Ziraa would fight back. Meanwhile, the creatures themselves weren’t doing so good. Many of them were sweating with fear, and their eyes showed white. But the ‘wolves were angry. Many of them had been killed already. They growled, hackles raised. They slowly advanced on the shadow dragons, snarling and growling all the way. The shadow dragons shifted uneasily. The lead wolf barked, one single, sharp bark that signalled to the other winged wolves to charge, which they did. They leapt forwards in one wave of grey fur, sharp claws flashing before the enemies eyes the instant before they died. Many winged wolves died in that fierce onslaught. But they took many shadow dragons down with them. The dark Lords red eyes filled with barely suppressed rage. The ground rumbled. Silence fell once more. Slowly, the dragons lifted their eyes, knowing what they would see by the terrible hissing that escaped from the creature. Sure enough, their eyes saw a towering black snake, with solid ruby scales that glinted in the dying light. Above the clouds, Venom blinked her great slitted eyes. Her forked tongue flicked out of her mouth, then in just as fast. The ‘wolves stopped fighting. They knew it, and the enemy knew that they knew it.
All hope was lost.
But the dragons now in turn growled, deep rumblings that came from deep within their chests. They despised Venom and her minions. She had slain many a wandering dragon, and shown no regret for any of them. There wasn’t a drop of mercy in the giant snake, which was what made her such a feared creature. Venom revelled in killing, particulary if it was a creature of Fierystar.
Fierystar. The dragons felt a spark of hope every time they thought of her name. Fierystar, the god of the dragons. Creator of Ziraa. Help us! They silently called out, seeking help against the threat of dying a painful, and most likely, poisoned death.
There was no reply. The last flickers of hope the dragons had felt moments before died, leaving them to the cold, hard truth. They were dead meat. Venom smiled, then reared up, so that she towered high above them all, one of the tallest creatures in existence. She hissed, then spat poison. It landed at the feet of the winged wolves, and they scattered, one eye always watching Venom, watching for when poison would fall, as if raining, burning into their flesh, eating away at the muscle and bone beneath, until nothing remained. But it didn’t come. Venom paused, looking at something at the same height as her. There came a screech, and the scraping of metal on metal.
The Draco Guardians had arrived.
Flying in the lead, Draco herself called out to the powerful creatures flying behind her. They hissed in response, often calling out in the unique language of the dragons, and got into their positions. The metallic scraping sound had come from the sharp steel blades that were glinting as the light of the sun glanced off of them, as they were dragged out of the ready position against the blades that grew out of the draco’s elbows. These blades were now aimed to the sides of each draco, and, as the sound of their wings beating reached the ‘wolves ears, they struck. Fast as lightening, each draco shot forwards, blades catching Venom sharp blows to her neck. Their tail blades they now flicked forwards, driving them into the miniature gaps between each ruby scale. They forced their blades deep inside Venom, as she pulled away from them. She struck back, spraying them with acidic poison, with burnt through their scales easily, and ate their wing membrane away. One by one they fell from the skies, gravity pulling them down faster, as though the planet was trying to swallow them.

( do say if you spot any spelling mistakes. )

and no thieving my ideas! ^ ^

page 3 :

The dragons looked down upon the broken, battered bodies of the draco’s, and once again their hopes diminished.
Overhead, Draco narrowed her eyes, and flew forwards at an incredible speed. With every powerful beat of her wings, she was brought closer and closer to Venom. At the last minute, she brought her curved slasher blade up, and, with the full force of her body behind it, struck Venom across the throat, slicing open the shimmering ruby armour that protected her, and ripping a deep, bloody gash into her throat. Venom screamed, a sound filled with hatred and agony, and waves of pain radiated from her. Slowly, her head turned towards Draco, and she drew her lips back from long, pearly white fangs. She lunged, and her jaws closed about Draco with a sickening crunch. Draco screeched, a sound which filled every dragons heart with terror, but, having seen Draco’s bravery, also gave them the courage to fight back. They launched themselves into the air, wings beating frantically, then bore down upon their enemies, and, as claws rent flesh from bone, all the dying shadow dragons saw in their killers eyes, was cold, steely determination. Shadow dragons began to fear the dragons of Ziraa, and, wherever a dragon swept down from the skies, they fled, preferring to keep their shadowy flesh upon their dark bones.
Venom recovered quickly, the wound closing up as though it had never been there. New gems grew over the cut, reinforcing her already almost-inpenatrable armour, bringing her an inch closer to invulnerability. She rose up again, and spat Draco’s body out, ignoring the splintered bone that now stuck out of Draco. As Draco hit the ground, she groaned, amazingly, still alive. Many of her bones had been crushed, and she wasn’t in much of a state to continue fighting, but she didn’t care. She lifted her head from the ground, and called out to her guardians. They came – The full force of the Draco Guardians. They came from all directions, some coming from behind Venom, some from behind the dragons, and yet more from the sides. There were thousands of them, and Draco was their leader. Even now she was directing them, even as wave upon wave of searing pain flooded through her. They admired her for it, and followed her every order, believing that someday they might be chosen to carry on Draco’s work, and keep the Draco Guardians alive and fighting.
Far below them, upon the ground, a brown-furred winged wolf silently padded out of the forest of Ziraa. The trees were dying fast, leaves shrivelling into nothingness, branches rotting and snapping off, and trunks withering, collapsing in on themselves. The ‘wolf’s name was Claws, and he was a bottom rank winged wolf, a cleaner wolf. They did all the jobs the others didn’t want to do, and got no thanks but for the food the higher ranks gave to them. Claws didn’t really mind this, but he did wish he could go up a rank. At least then he wouldn’t have to get rid of the decayed carcasses left after the ‘wolves had feasts. Suddenly, something began to rise out of the rapidly diminishing lake. It was Seabreeze, one of Venoms minions. Claws looked around warily, sure that Seabreeze’ brother would be nearby. He was right. Scales was slithering out of the tall meadow grass, hissing and flicking his forked tongue every now and then. Seabreeze and Scales both slithered over to Venom and rose up on either side of her, unintentionally showing everyone that Venom was a lot longer than them. All three of them hissed in unison, then struck. Seabreeze called forth a small tidal wave, and sent it crashing into the ‘wolves. Scales used her element energy to cause several huge roses to grow, with thorns as long as a bus and the tips as sharp as needles. Many dragons and ‘wolves were impaled upon the thorns, and a few ‘wolves were stranded upon the very top of the roses, extremely high up.
Just then some more dark creatures decided to join in. the shadow dragons were fighting back fiercely now, but they stopped what they were doing, even if it meant them dying painfully, and parted to allow the winged tigers to pass.

SilverEspeon - April 1, 2007 06:46 PM (GMT)
Ya!! And the thing is, we'll know a soon-to-be famous author!!!!! XD

fierystar - April 1, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
yay! i'll give you all discounts! XD

The winged tigers were basically the counterparts to the winged wolves. They were part of the darkness as the ‘wolves were part of the light. Without one, the other species would fall into chaos. And yet, they hated each other with the intensity of several small suns. The ‘wolves tensed, every muscles coiled and ready to release to allow the ‘wolves to leap at a moments notice. The ‘tigers softly growled, also tensing up. There was a moment while the tension built up, then both sides released their pent-up energy, leaping at each other with claws extended. Claws watched on in horror and fascination, this being his first time of seeing the deadly dance the ‘wolves and ‘tigers did when fighting. The one who struck first would normally be blocked, and then would have to nimbly side-step to avoid a thrusting paw with sharpened claw, or, for the more experienced battle winged creature, a sharp downward swipe.
The draco guardians rallied, responding to the call of their injured leader, defending the honour and glory of the guardians. If given the chance, not one of them would have fled, preferring to die glaring into the eyes of their killer, with their blades drenched with crimson blood. As one, they swept forwards, fire erupting from between their powerful jaws, setting alight the misty black flesh of the shadow dragons before them. Their claws raked forwards through the air, slicing open dark skin, tearing huge gaping wounds into a dark dragons body, some even pulling chunks of black flesh out of their victims, but all killing thousands of shadow dragons. The dragons flew with them, tail whipping through the air to wrap around their enemies throats and choke the last of the air from their lungs. The ‘wolves, baying for blood, fought with just as much bravery, some taking damage they deemed nessecary to get a clear swipe at their striped foes. The ‘tigers roared in pain, paws flailing through the air in a desperate attempt to kill their opponents before they were killed themselves.
“ Poison tsunami! “ Venom screamed into the air, summoning a tsunami wave of acidic poison instantly. Its shadow swept over everyone, growing jet black seconds before the monster wave crashed down upon them. The air filled with screams and screeches of pure agony as flesh dripped from bones, and as muscles were eaten away by the deadly poison. Claws howled in pain, the poison having splashed onto his left leg. It burnt there, sending waves of searing pain shooting up Claws shoulder and down his wing. He dragged himself backwards, away from the horrific scene before him. Where moments before a battle had been raging, now all that was left was a picture of carnage; bodies strewn everywhere, pools of blood gathering all over the ground, melted flesh mixing with the crimson blood, and as Claws looked on, the sickly scent of blood filled his nostrils. Venom rose up again, unharmed by the acidic poison, and surveyed the scene before her. She smiled grimly, as Seabreeze and Scales lifted their great heads beside her. Scales shuddered at the sight of all the bodies, whilst Seabreeze merely blinked, having witnessed the results of the acidic tidal wave before.
The Dark lord was furious. “ Do you have any idea how hard it was to train those dragons!?! “ He yelled, rounding on Venom, who simply stared at him with cold eyes. “ Next time – “ He was cut off as Venom flicked her pronged tongue then spoke smoothly. “ Next time? Who said there would even BE a next time? “ The Dark Lord frowned, clearly annoyed. “ We agreed that you would work for me. Remember? “ He replied in a frustrated voice. Down on the ground, unnoticed by the three giant snakes and the ultimate nightmare/shadow dragon hybrid, several winged wolves stirred, lifting their heads despite the oozing wounds that covered their bodies. They slowly rose to melted paws, and, grimacing, opened burnt eyes.
“ Work for you? I work for none, save death herself! “ Venom hissed angrily.
