Although we have yet to establish a connection I have enclosed in this letter a matter of much importance. I would be surprised that if this letter could find its' way through the series of secretaries that filter out the trash that plagues your Majesty. Enclosed is a list of designs that I would never send to any lesser individual then yourself. I deigned the risk of carrying it on my person and sent it immediately after I had formed it. It holds a series of brief descriptions describe my works with the substance known as gunpowder. Without further ado ,the descriptions.

Blaze Rod

This device could be either a hallowed piece of metal or wood. When bringing fire a to a strand of rope it would set off the gunpowder placed inside this device. Said gunpowder would many metal fragments from its' end. Said fragments would move at high speeds towards the foe and effectively kill or blind him. An extremely inexpensive weapon that has a low fail rate. Reacts poorly with moisture. It can be made of wood and be partially covered in metal. When used the wood would rapidly burn ,but the metal holder would be re-usable. It can also be a full length ,hollow metal rod that be used as a stave or have a blade attached to its' end.

Earth Bomb

It is common knowledge that our Baskar foes utilize stealth to ambush and surprise us. This weapon consists of a clay pot ,filled with scrap metal and gunpowder. When a string is pulled a series of events causes it to explode. Thus raining shards of clay and metal in a radius around it. This rope can come in the form of a tripwire. On top of that this weapon can be halfway submerged. An unwitting foe could accidentally press the tripwire and be killed by the resulting shrapnel. The loud resulting noise could easily remove the element of stealth from the foe. This weapon is easily placed and can foil enemy maneuvers and is easy to transport and inexpensive.

Hand Bomb

This weapon consists of a small orb. It is usually made of clay and lightweight. It is packed with gunpowder and metal scraps. To use the weapon a piece of attached rope must be set aflame in order to begin the process. The wielder must immediately the bomb must be thrown at a foe. Swiftly after the fire is set it will explode and send shrapnel in all directions. Best used against packed enemies ,it can easily break formations or disrupt defenses. Capable of unsettling horses.

If any of these subjects interest you I plead with you to send a return message. We would be able to discuss this important matter further. Due to my personal stockpiles I have many examples of these tools. I would meet with you whenever it is at your convenience.

To Pfc. Deora Ray,

Your message pleases Us, though your form of address is casual and unsuitable. Politeness, however, has never ranked higher in my mind than genius, and your inventions are indeed of great use to Us. Use this letter as dispensation; show it to the Generals and other commanders in your garrison, and share the precise recipe for these devices with them, that Our armies may make use of them.

Signed,
King Aedan I
