Physical Description:
At 5' 5" tall and 130lb. , Aislinn is certainly what most people would consider petite, but she's not unhealthy looking. Her adorable appearance is rather misleading when one considers her personality. She has subtle feminine curves, and she certainly doesn't appear to be very muscular. However, her arms and shoulders have been made strong by frequent lifting. Her small hands and feet have strangely remained very soft, much like the rest of her light skin, despite her work.

By most standards, Aislinn would be considered 'pretty' but not stunning. Even though she is now a young lady, she retains many of the soft features of her childhood. Her face is round without any harsh angles, and her cheeks are constantly graced with a light shade of rose. Her small, pale lips are always fixed in a pout unless she is wearing a bright smile. Long, dark lashes frame her almond-shaped, light hazel eyes. The brows that serve to draw more attention her bright eyes are strong and dark but not extremely thick. Between her pouty lips and expressive eyes lays a straight nose with a tip that is as gently curved as the rest of her features. The hair that falls around this pretty face is a dark chestnut color. It cascades in thick waves to the bottom of Aislinn's shoulder blades when it is worn down, but she prefers to have it tied back in a low horse-tail or braid when working.

As a peasant, Aislinn generally wears a rough, plain, woolen kirtle over a loosely fitting blouse. She has been lucky enough to be given a few linen garments from her former lord, but none of her articles of clothing are very impressive.

Personality:
In strong contrast to her innocent appearance, Aislinn is a manipulative, bitter, passionate, quick-to-anger, young woman with very little concern for anyone outside her immediate family. Her outlook on life is mostly realistic, though she definitely experiences pessimism at times (especially when she is feeling insecure). To put it plainly, Aislinn seems to be a noblewoman born into the wrong family. She is motivated mainly be her own selfish desires and the goal of increasing her family's standing in society.

Childish behavior. . .
Aislinn still displays some childish behavior that is discouraged. She is curious to the point of being downright nosey, and she clearly has difficulty comprehending acceptable conduct. It is very common for her to test her boundaries and perform minor acts of insubordination just for the sake of being difficult. Though she puts on a good facade, people eventually discover the mischievous youth beneath her cool and confident veneer.

Intuitive and sly. . .
Playing mind games is her favorite thing to do, and it comes naturally to her. She is intuitive and absorbs information like a dry sponge. It isn't uncommon for her to eavesdrop shamelessly and try to seem sympathetic simply to gain access to information. It is tough to determine whether or not Aislinn is being genuine in her conversations, but there are times when she is entirely honest. Unfortunately, when her sincerity does come through it is rarely taken seriously.

With acquaintances. . .
With people Aislinn doesn't know she either taunts them from a distance or, when she is bold enough to initiate conversation, she engages them confidently. Her confidence is often a shield, but practice has made her very convincing. She has found that many men enjoy women that don't throw themselves at them, so feigning indifference is one of her favorite and most effective tactics (even with women).

With people she knows and trusts. . .
Aislinn doesn't make true friends easily, but those that she trusts (mainly her family) see an entirely different side of her. As a child she was extremely timid and gentle. Her experiences with her lord and others in his fiefdom had a significant effect on her personality traits as she got older. Eventually she came to the conclusion that her insecurities were hindering her. In an attempt to become a stronger person and pursue her aspirations, Aislinn began to develop the confident and detached persona that is now becoming an essential part of her. It is becoming more difficult for her to revert back to her old self, but her parents and siblings bring out the self-conscious, caring girl in her.

Romance. . .
Although Aislinn is old enough to marry, she hasn't had much luck with romantic relationships. Her appearance and wit have been enough to grab the attention of quite a few men, but she eventually becomes very uncomfortable around them and they either lose interest or find that she is more trouble than she is worth. Marriage is certainly something that she desires, but she doesn't honestly believe that she is desirable and she lacks traits that most men find attractive: loyalty, silence, and an overwhelming desire to please and provide for her husband.

Goals. . .
Far from content with her social standing, Aislinn greatly desires wealth and power for herself and her family. She looks up to and admires her older brother and parents, and she adores her younger brother. It is her main goal to make sure that they are living well and happily. If she didn't believe that obeying the wishes of her lord, she never would have been so willing to leave home to work at the garrison.

Likes. . .
As any woman should, Aislinn loves music and art. She also appreciates and longs for beautiful gowns and jewelry. Most people don't know, but she has quite a bit of singing talent. Being an entertainer would probably take her farther than being a servant, but she wouldn't dare follow such a path. The thought of being watched and carefully judged by so many people terrifies her.

Aislinn is very critical of people, but there are some traits that she appreciates. She likes it when others give her a bit of competition rather than taking everything she says as fact. Intellectual conversations grab her attention and she can debate things for hours. Confiding in her, though it may take a while, is sure to earn some points with Aislinn. She'll eventually offer information in return after some hesitation. One must give a little to receive anything in return from her.

Dislikes. . .
While it is to be expected, Aislinn hates being treated like the peasant that she is. Being disrespected or looked down upon inspires great resentment in her. She is easily insulted and she doesn't handle her emotional injuries well. It isn't very difficult to anger her. Unless given a specific reason to be angry with someone superior, she will take orders without objection. However, it isn't uncommon for her to show how displeased she is when being ordered around by someone she doesn't like.

It's impossible for a servant to remain completely clean at all times, but Aislinn absolutely hates being covered in grime. This causes her a lot of irritation because her wool kirtles aren't exactly easy to clean. She tries to stay as dirt-free as possible, but when that doesn't work out she tends to act a bit unpleasant.

History:
Aislinn was born into a morally sound family with two fine parents and a very protective older brother. They were serfs that served the lord of a minor fiefdom. Though providing for their family was often a challenge, Aislinn was always well cared for and generally a very happy little girl. Her brother was consistently good to her, and she had very little to worry about.

As she grew older, about nine years of age, the lord took an interest in her as he often did with the pretty and talented (or just well-mannered) girls. He requested that she act as one of his personal servants (he had about a dozen from families of his serfs). Such a request was never refused, and Aislinn gladly did whatever he asked of her. Most often she aided in the cleaning of his house, the preparation of his meals and any other chores that needed to be done.

After a rather entertaining conversation with the man, something that was quite rare, Aislinn was asked to do easier and more desirable tasks. She would fetch books and things for him, take his letters to nearby people, and spend a bit of time doing her best to prevent his boredom. This lord of hers was kind enough to nurture her desire for knowledge by discussing various subjects with her including philosophy, art, and even a bit of politics (which she eventually managed to begin understanding). If she was especially helpful on a particular day, he'd even allow her to borrow a book from his little library (she wasn't a fantastic reader by any means, but she was still able to get something out of them). Her mother had taught her what little details she knew about reading. These lessons were further reinforced and expanded upon by the older servants of the lord, and occasionally the lord himself who obviously considered Aislinn's intelligence valuable. Her loyalty to him was even enough to grant her family a slight bit of special treatment, resulting in their promotion from villeins to freemen.

All was well for a while, but eventually the lord lost interest in Aislinn. Her clever tongue and fresh take on the world was no longer valuable to him, and he had plenty of other girls to handle what needed to be done. For some unknown reason, as it had to be something greater than becoming bored with her, he decided it was best to send her to the garrisons to serve the military troops of Thiasa. Aislinn was hurt by the fact that he didn't want her around any longer, and he had made plans to take her away from her family. After expressing her disapproval of his decision (there wasn't much that she could say without punishment), Aislinn had to do obey. If she refused, there was no doubt in her mind that her family would have to pay for her insubordination.

She had passed her 17th birthday a few months before she arrived at the border garrisons. Here she was just another servant girl without any connections or family to comfort her. Now that she has been here for almost a year, she is treated quite well and known by plenty of the troops. However, she doesn't have many friends and she isn't entirely happy. She has only seen Teague once since arriving (he is now a conscript in the military), and she misses her family very much.

Plot Potential: Aislinn would be great entertainment for any of the people stationed at the garrisons, even the other servants. She could be friendly with plenty of different people, but she's always a challenge. Romantic interests are certainly possible, but any real relationships are guaranteed to be rocky. Since she's of marrying age, I wouldn't be at all against participating in a plot in which a man attempts to court her. Also, it's very possible that she'll cause a bit of trouble.

If someone was interested they could play Aislinn's older brother, Teague, as an aux. character (really, they could play any of her family members, but he would probably be the most interesting). I'm not planning on specifying much about him other than the fact that he loves his little sister and is very protective toward her.

SAMPLE RP:
((My creative juices aren't exactly flowing. So, I'm going to do my best to show you what happens when I've got very little inspiration- I describe every boring detail worth mentioning. Hopefully that will suffice.))

It was just another miserable day of work. The sun was hidden behind ominous grey clouds that were obviously indicating that a heavy rain would begin at any moment. That only made Aislinn more irritated as she was already wearing a frown due to three inches of mud covering the ground. The bottom of her short-sleeved, beige kirtle was already soaked with water from the murky puddles decorating the dirt paths that wove through the various, humble collections of buildings.

A few strands of her dark hair had made their way out of her braid and into her face, obstructing her view. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done about this because the large, moderately heavy basket of linens she was carrying required the attention of both of her hands. She attempted to solve this little problem by stopping at the place where she intended to make a right, and turned to face the wind. That worked, but only moments after continuing on her way, a quick breeze pulled an additional lock of hair out of its tie which only made matters worse.

Such annoyances were insignificant to most, but during this miserably boring day the irritation that this caused Aislinn was magnified. She didn't have much to focus her attention on, and the dark blur that came in and out of her sight was difficult to ignore. Dwelling on this minor problem until rain began to pour down would have been perfectly fine for Aislinn, but the thought was quickly replaced by the urge to put on a happier face.

In about twenty paces she would have to pass through a small group of men. This event was just about as significant as the exciting movement of stray hair. Of course, knowing how Aislinn was reacting to the previous event, it should not be entirely shocking that Aislinn was now entirely focused on this. Fixing her face into an aloof expression, she confidently waltzed right through the gathering of conversing young men as if she wasn't contemplating a whole collection of possible outcomes (all of which were far more interesting that anything that was likely to occur).

Noticing that one of the men was particularly handsome, Aislinn offered him one of her infectious smiles. It was happily received and acknowledged with a subtle nod. That was more than enough to please her. The rest of her journey with the linen basket was spent daydreaming and ruminating completely useless information like the typical, bored servant that she hoped she wasn't.

What's the name of the Creator God the Ekaini worship?: ((yep))

I like this app. Her personality is interesting. I think she ought to meet François... that might be ... fun.... (Two spoiled-rotten people in bad situations).

Only one thing I would like you to clarify for me: where did she get the learning necessary for debate? You don't state it explicitly, but I assume this doting Lord taught her to read, or engaged her idly in conversations in matters of philosophy, etc.?

Clear this up, and I'm good with accepting this application, even if I don't really encourage you to write posts in real RP that are so devoid of content. ;) Still, I understand it's easier to generate dialogue when there's another RPer around. Anyway--feel free to write shorter posts if you can't think of something important to write. No one around here minds, as long as you're over the minimum.

That's it. Fix what I requested and we're set.

Alright, now I think it might just be complete (or good enough at least) ;).

Very nice. Accepted. I like that you know how to use the word 'villein.' :) Fun times at the garrison!
