Brief Outline of Personality, History, and Appearance:
Mikel is 17, the brash, bragging friend of Iņaki sem'Zeru. He's a skilled warrior and a bit of a bully, very popular among the young warriors of the Zerui, somewhat toadying toward Xanti, the Warlord-to-be. As of now, he's the only one who knows about Iņaki and Esti's affair, and he has just tried to kill Iņaki in the border skirmish, in order to save the Zerui people. He was himself wounded, stabbed through the shoulder quite badly, shattering a bone and losing some of his range of motion.
Mikel really believes he knows the right thing to do. He thinks that if the succession is protected the Zerui will prosper... and he's not entirely wrong in his dim view of the rather pathetic Iņaki.
Due to his forceful personality and inflexible will, as well as his ready sense of (slightly cruel) humor, he's always been popular. He grew up surrounded by a crowd of young boys, and the only one to whom he was ever deferent was Xanti. With Xanti gone, Mikel is the indisputable leader among the younger Zerui.
He isn't particularly handsome: he's of medium height, quite muscular, and he has a square-jawed face, thick eyebrows, and very dark eyes, which grant him a certain intensity of expression.
