Title: Walking into unknown lands.
Description: Iruuuuuuuuuuune.

Kepa sem'Sendoa - April 7, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
As he had awoken Kepa's spirit of the wolf pined to run and explore, bored of the mindless chores Kepa was forced to do daily. The early dawn promised heat and a fine day for walking. Slipping into his simple loincloth he fastened his axe to his hip, adorning his chest and neck with plain men's jewelry. Humming quietly to himself he neaten up where he slept with his family, careful not to make noise so that he wouldn't wake up his sisters.

Almost inaudibly he crept from the large tent, a warm breeze met him as he smiled into the sky. Quietly thanking Eguzki for such a fine day he walked past other early risers already about their work. He knew he would have to get going quickly otherwise his mother would awake and collar him into something or other. Glad Frantzsika was not awake for she would wish to accompany him Kepa went on through the small camp which was situated to the east of the central one.

Picking up a few apples on his way Kepa wasn't so impertinent to know he would need sustenance on his daily 'adventure' or as many called it his 'daydreaming wanders'. As the sun slowly climbed higher into the sky Kepa found himself getting further and further away from his people. In fact soon enough he was at the boarder between the Ekaini and the Zerui. Unbeknownst to this he wandered further inwards, coming to a small cluster of trees where he then sat to regain some lost energy.

It was now roughly a few hours before midday, all his food had been devoured and he was sufficiently tired. He had been walking for hours and for some reason he hadn't brought his horse Alaia. Glad no one else was in his mind to think he was an idiot Kepa felt a blush coming on. Not only was he miles from home, he hadn't done his chores, despite having none to do and he was beginning to think this was now Zerui lands.

Cursing himself he began to poke around the small wooded area, searching fervently for any type of food. Glad for now he couldn't see any other Baskar, even though the two tribes were apparently allies. Not bothering to be all that silent he scourged around, finding hand fulls of berries and a dead squirrel. Frowning at his bad luck he wondered if Eguzki was punishing him for trespassing, or maybe answering a prayer from his angry sister. Ziska always hated it when her twin brother went off without her.

Now the sun was beating down heavy rays, heating up as the day got closer to its mid point. Glad he had worn his loincloth Kepa was beginning to sweat, thus making him keep mainly to the shade. Hearing a noise behind him he went on full alert, hand falling to the handle of his axe as he went still. Heart pumping he was glad at least he didn't have an arrow sticking through him. This maker of the noise must at least be moral in his actions. "Anyone there...?"

Irune alab'Amets - April 7, 2008 11:15 PM (GMT)
"Damn it all, Irune, you're making too much noise!"

Irune giggled, shaking her head of tied-back kinks with a playful smirk. Trust her dear brother to chastise her such irritating resonance. At least, to Yuli, it was irritating, but resonant all the same. "I'll be fine, brother. Have you already forgotten we're merely..." She leaned back, allowing the indescribable warmth of the sun to penetrate the constantly shadowed flesh of her face. In such brief comfort she finished, "... enjoying ourselves? People do things like that, you know."

Yuli did not have much of anything inspiring to say, his attention drifting back to the forested surroundings. "Hunters haven't any time for enjoyment, Irune."

"Supposedly", she replied. "But we can certainly make time."

"Not even then."

"We can, too."

"Can not."

"Can, too."

Yuli turned to her, his onyx hair whipping about as if to represent his biting rise of fury. "We cannot."

"Oh, but my dear brother, we can!" Irune pecked his cheek and shook her head, starting ahead of him with her bow kept lax in one hand. "Come on, we're only having fun, aren't we? I want to go a bit further before we absolutely and totally decide to quit."

But it her elder brother stood with a heavy sigh, rolling his shoulders in turn with stretching his arms. It seemed to Irune as if he was prepared to have done with her adventure. "I'll let you alone at it, sister. Eguzki's teeth, your incessant insistance to know things could drain a shaman. I will be back at the village."

She waved him away, her focus intent on the continuation of what expanse lay ahead of her. "Whatever you say", she muttered under her breath.

"But be sure to keep close!", he called after her as she went slinking about. "The border is nearby, and I know izeba Iosune doesn't want you venturing over. Eguzki knows what'll happen these days with the possibilities of war at hand."

"You're beginning to sound like Father!" The two siblings laughed in tune, then proceeding to go in opposing directions with the air of humor lingering upon their tongues. Irune couldn't help but continue smiling to herself.

Sometimes he's worse than Father and izeba combined, she mused. Certainly with enough enthusiasm. Oh, I smell berries...!

Disregarding her initial hunter stance Irune stood, arms extended to reach for tantalizingly colorful fruit overhead. It was a rather heightened reach, that was for certain. Irune hated the idea of having to leap in all her shortened glory to simply make the attempt for grabbing at the fruitful boughs.

The sloth within, however, decided against useless exertion of energy. There'll be more hanging a bit lower somewhere, she agreed, sighing as she walked underneath the branches. And they'll probably be a great deal tastier, too.

Oh, the false travesties of the vertically disadvantaged. Irune reverted back to her stealthy slinking upon the earth, trying half-heartedly to keep from making contact with the crackling essence of leaves and branches.

She apparently was not fairing too well, that much it seemed others could be certain of.

"Anyone there...?"

His abrupt presence startled her. It should not have, in all truth, but it had, and Irune made a note to rebuke herself for it later. If there was one things hunters certainly could not be, it was to be startled. Not so blantantly.

And he had blatantly startled her.

Unsure she could be seen by his keen eyes just yet, Irune slunk back into the offered shade of several bushes and other such shrubbery. Keeping her own dark irises on that of his poised form, watching the readied axe within his strengthened hand, she silently slipped an arrow from the quiver at her back, propping it with pristine accuracy within the great bow. If he was here with devilish intent, Irune was sure she would be the first to rebuke him for it.

And so she stood from behind the offered shelter of the shrubber, weapon aimed directly for his heart. If he made the wrong move...

"Stay where you are!", she warned him sharply. "Don't move, or I'll shoot. What are you doing here, on this end?"
