I think it would be better if I started Lirain off with a few casual threads, so don't feel pressured into taking up a specific role if you're interested in a roleplay with me. A childhood friend would be appreciated perhaps, someone who used to be quite close with Lirain but has since realized the distance between them and how much they've grown apart since her brother's disappearance. Also, someone who finds her attitude foolish. A member of her tribe she isn't on particularly good terms with would work.

As for the outsiders, I'm sure we'd be able to come up with something. I had an idea that Lirain would sneak off to the boundry in moments of weakness when hope overrides common sense and she thinks she'd be able to somehow rescue him.
No, he is not alive. She just continues the belief that he is. So she may come across an interloper there.

I could help out on the whole being-a-scornful-jerk part (sort of).

My character also lost his brother during a skirmish...and they weren't on the best of terms, so he would probably understand how she feels, but there's no way he'd believe Itzal is still alive. The way she clings to hope is very impractical, in Mitxel's eyes. So, he could play the part of the cynic, if you like, and we could see how it goes.

That sounds fantastic! I can see there being a good deal of tension between the two. Lirain would respect Mitxel no doubt in regards to the loss of his own brother, but at the same time resent the fact that he considers her hope a fruitless, empty one.

I could, um... well, Iñaki is a bit of a follower, so he might help Lirain try to get onto interloper territory.

Particularly because he wants to prove himself. The others tend to think he isn't brave. Granted, this might not be the best way of proving himself, and in fact it's pretty stupid. However, I could see that maybe he had Itzal were some sort of rivals and he wants to prove he's better than the (dead) boy by rescuing him.

He also likes female attention. A pretty girl could talk him into just about anything.

Stupid, yes, but that's Iñaki.

Oh, and Mitxel, I think you could do plenty of scorning where Iñaki is concerned, too. Or even, later, once he has a bit of a turnaround, grudging friendship.

That's a great idea! Lirain would jump at the chance of having some way to reach the interloper territory.
Remember she's emotionally unstable and completely desperate so any help offered to her would be accepted without question, even if he was in fact a rival of sorts to her brother.

And yes, it would be a reckless idea on both of their parts. Likely it won't do either of them much good, but I can see some drama happening as a result of their actions that may fuel future subplots in regards to their tribe.
