I just realised I haven't introduced myself yet either, how rude of me, I hope you forgive me!

I'm Melanie, otherwise known as Wicked Witch of the North or occasionally as Yorkshire Rose. I've always been a crafty person really, I started off with flower arranging when I was but a wee girl, then went into the bridal side of business when I left school having already trained as a florist with my mum.

Then I met my husband, who is in the army, and he whisked me away. I have lived in Colchester and Germany, where I picked up a lot of different crafting techniques including straw silk art, which is my passion. I now live in North Yorkshire, I'm from South Yorkshire originally and it's great to be back home.

On returning back to the UK I started to dabble with the odd card and now make samples for my mums business. I have only in the last two weeks started to sell my cards.

Neither my husband nor my son (9yrs) are crafters, I think being as I am probably the worlds untidiest crafter I have more than likely put them off!
