Created by a think-tank of scientists from both Incom Corporation and Subpro Corporation, the Z-95 Headhunter is one of the main predecessors to the Incom T-65 X-Wing. Aesthetically, it looks very much like an X-Wing, the only major differences being that it is a little more stubby, lacks the split-wing design of the X-Wing and also doesn’t have an astromech socket. The Z-95, though old, is still considered quite a solid starfighter, and there are many reasons why this is so.

Obviously, when compared to the X-Wing, the Z-95 is found lacking in nearly every area, but not by much. It has two sets of triple blasters, mounted at the ends of the wings, and powerful concussion missile launchers. Precise maneuvering thrusters and sensitive and responsive instrumentation make the Z-95 only slightly less agile than an X-Wing. It is slightly slower as well and unfortunately lacks a hyperdrive, but hyperdrive sleds and other such upgrades are very common so this isn’t so much of a worry.

The one thing that can be said about the Z-95 is that it is reliable. Rugged and durable, the Z-95 can operate in nearly any environment at almost maximum capacity, and requires little maintenance, so it is popular on the galactic fringe and on planets where the environment is a little more harsh than normal. And of course, it is much cheaper than the X-wing, so there’s plenty of good reasons to own a Headhunter.
