These massive ring-shaped freighters were the backbone of the Trade Federation transport fleet, and for good reason. Able to carry a huge amount of cargo, the Lucrehulk is a true hauler. It has low crew requirements due to the huge amount of automaton it has, is very fast for such a big ship, able to outrun some starfighters and has a mildly respectable weapon complement for a civilian transport ship. It sports very thick armour but no shields, so it is generally accompanied by a more well-armed escort. Of course, the simply vast cargo bays make it easy to modify the Lucrehulks as one sees fit. Another thing to take into consideration is that the central generator of a Lucrehulk-class War Freighter is powerful enough to maintain the systems of approximately twenty Venator-class Star Destroyers. Why the Trade Federation, known for its minimalist and penny-pinching designs, would design a ship with such a clearly excessive power source is anyone’s guess.
