Title: radar blockers

ZUKA ZAMAMEE - May 25, 2008 04:00 AM (GMT)
Type: upgrade
Power: Paint
Capacity: none
Source of Energy: none
Special abilities: signal absorber
Purpose: For the URF/UNSC. This is basically to stop the manual ability to block radars.

This is a special paint that absorbs the signals sent out by radars. So that instead of the signals returning to the ships dish and showing on the radar where the target is, no signal is returned and the spot is labeled as empty space. If a shot is fired from a MAC cannon, then the paint is peeled off the front of the ship revealing the location by radar. If any type of missile is fired, then the exhaust from the missile stays on the ship and the radars detect the location of the exhaust stuck on the ship and can guess where the rest of the ship is via radar. If any type of gun is fired, the gun powder from the barrel is stuck on the gun and with radar they can see the guns, and therefor guess where the rest of the ship is. AND if the ship enters the atmosphere, the heat from entry peels off the paint and radars can see them then.

Type: upgrade
Power: shield upgrade
Capacity: none
Source of Energy: shields
Special abilities: signal absorber
Purpose: For the Covenant ships. This is basically to stop the manual ability to block radars.

This an upgrade to the shields for all covenant ships. The shields absorb the signals sent out from radars. So that instead of the signals returning to the ships dish and showing on the radar where the target is, no signal is returned and the spot is labeled as empty space. If an energy weapon is fired, the plasma residue from the gun disturbed the shields and changes the polarization for the shields so that they no longer absorb the signals. If a ship enters the atmosphere the heat interrupts the polarization for the shields so that they no longer absorb the signals.

thats pretty much it. this should stop the ability to manually block radars no matter what you have.

Leo_Reborn - May 25, 2008 04:21 AM (GMT)
Prices?

ZUKA ZAMAMEE - May 25, 2008 04:35 AM (GMT)
not sure exactly. i sucked at prices. and also its a reason why this is not accepted.

any comments for prices leo?

Sentinel17 - May 25, 2008 04:58 AM (GMT)
$5,000,000-$15,000,000

I do not like having technology like this so common and inexpensive that now radars won't ever matter anymore without this.

Leo_Reborn - May 25, 2008 05:19 AM (GMT)
5 Million - 15 Million PER SHIP!? ARE YOU CRAZY?

It should be near 2 Million.

Sentinel17 - May 25, 2008 07:07 AM (GMT)
I want it to be expensive so not everyship can have it and it is an important piece of technology. It's just like AIs. Now I cannot go anywhere without being unable to see any ship.. it's annoying, because they are all cheap.

Leo_Reborn - May 25, 2008 04:31 PM (GMT)
Cheap?

An Extreme Radar costs 1/4th of my suggested Price. A Ship with Extreme Radar can see EVERY Ship without the upgrade. 3 Ships with the Upgrade Vrs. Extreme Radar Destroyer =

6 Million+
VS.
500,000

PLUSSS. The fact that when they fire, you can see them visually.

Reklar - May 25, 2008 05:04 PM (GMT)
I Suggest 5 Mil For Them, This Way The Radars Are Not Completely Useless

ZUKA ZAMAMEE - May 25, 2008 05:14 PM (GMT)
i agree with the 5 million. any other suggestions?

Revan - May 25, 2008 06:07 PM (GMT)
I say 5 million, AND Extreme Radars cost more. Remember when they were expensive?

Sentinel17 - May 25, 2008 06:15 PM (GMT)
I agree, radars should cost more, 1,000,000 perhaps?

Haru - May 25, 2008 06:36 PM (GMT)
Okeyy... So this blocks Extreme Radar as well as everything else?

But does it block visuals?

I don't think it would. The ship still needs stealth.

The description needs more detail. lol.

Revan - May 25, 2008 06:36 PM (GMT)
I wasn't thinking maybe 500,000.

Reklar - May 25, 2008 06:39 PM (GMT)
It Blocks Radar But Not Stealth, I Still Say Somewhere Between 3-5 Mil

Haru - May 25, 2008 06:43 PM (GMT)
Realistically, its like a one time thing.

If you shoot once, its gone forever.

So it should cost really low, like 1 Million, if you have to buy a new coat every time.

Or a lot, like 5 Million, if you just have to pay the 10,000 to resupply your ship after every use.

Leo_Reborn - May 25, 2008 07:39 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Plus If your hit, The Paint scrapes off, leaving a small enough exposed body to appear on radar.

ZUKA ZAMAMEE - May 25, 2008 08:57 PM (GMT)
you guys don't see the strategic advantage to this though. like a spy ship. having a ship come in receiving transmissions, hidden comms jamming, etc

in battle the upgrades are useless, but with indirect things the upgrade is the best of the best.

Leo_Reborn - May 25, 2008 08:59 PM (GMT)
Well.. All we do is mostly fight.. so spying isn't that big of an option.

Revan - May 25, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
I see exactly what you're saying. I like it.

ZUKA ZAMAMEE - May 25, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
it can also be the secret to winning

aren't you tired of having a ship around your planet being destroyed because they are jamming, this can prevent it, but they cannot fight.

its solid leo, it can be used in a fight, it itself just cannot fight.

Leo_Reborn - May 25, 2008 09:18 PM (GMT)
Meh. Its pretty good for ONI and SIII's.

Sentinel17 - May 25, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
Which factions have it?

Revan - May 25, 2008 10:34 PM (GMT)
Well Covenant is destroyed, So Heretics, Covenant Separatists, UNSC, and URF.

EDIT: Where did you get 100 mil? If you don't mind my asking.

Sentinel17 - May 25, 2008 10:38 PM (GMT)
I have connections.

Revan - May 25, 2008 10:46 PM (GMT)
OOC:... What does that mean?

Sentinel17 - May 25, 2008 10:49 PM (GMT)
Jet_Reborn, URF Second-In-Command. He gave me $40,000,000.

Revan - May 25, 2008 10:51 PM (GMT)
OOC: Lol, thank you. I forgot about Jet. Is he still playing?

Sentinel17 - May 25, 2008 10:52 PM (GMT)
Yeah but not that actively.
BTW approve my order plz.

Revan - May 26, 2008 02:09 AM (GMT)
Okay. So how about we just put it at five mil? Everyone seems to agree with that. And do we boost up the price on the extreme radar?

ZUKA ZAMAMEE - May 26, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
alright 5 mil and i will add to upgrades now.

AND FOR ANYONE READING THIS TOPIC. ANY PLACE IN THE RPG WHERE A SHIP IS BLOCKING RADAR. THAT IS IMMEDIATELY VOIDED AND THEY CAN BE SEEN!!

johndon - May 26, 2008 03:20 AM (GMT)
Can AI detect the ship still even if it has paint? A character smart ai?

ZUKA ZAMAMEE - May 26, 2008 03:47 AM (GMT)
how would it if the only way is by radar. so no it cannot

johndon - May 26, 2008 05:24 AM (GMT)
Then i say jack up the price. Becuase if this goes through then ships can send firing cords and then fleets could be destroyed with no stratgy.

JohnSpartan117_Reborn - May 26, 2008 05:49 AM (GMT)
I dont like it. No.

Reklar - May 26, 2008 05:50 AM (GMT)
Currently At The Moment Anyone Can Just Jam Their Signals And Be Pretty Much Perma Invis, Which Defeats The Purpose Of Extreme Radar....Period

And Again, Dont Down An Idea Unless You Have Some Constructive Thoughts On It

JohnSpartan117_Reborn - May 26, 2008 05:55 AM (GMT)
Thats the point of level is it not?

Reklar - May 26, 2008 05:57 AM (GMT)
But The Level Cap Is 50 (NPC Level 5) And If You Have 2 Level 50s Going At Each Other, Then What?

johndon - May 26, 2008 06:01 AM (GMT)
Detail wins?

Reklar - May 26, 2008 06:03 AM (GMT)
But Then People Will Complain And Go "Omg Omg Omg F***ing Detail" , All It Takes Is The Simplest Of Things To Miss And Your Screwed Over

johndon - May 26, 2008 06:06 AM (GMT)
Then thats that persons fault
