Title: Rock Bounce
Rose Flighton - June 10, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
Hi, it's me again. ^_^
I've been trying to figure out a way to counter the main decks the meta game, you know, Dark, Lightsworn and Gladiator Beasts and this is kind of the conclusion I've reached. I figured that since dark and Lightsworn revolve around getting monsters into the grave then nothing could be as frustrating as the cards instead going back to the hand, and if I play my stall game right then I can halt their aggro tactics and generally slow my opponents down long enough for me to gain an advantage. Not to mention that a well placed bounce could throw off the gladiator beast swap that is needed to ensure their effects, and bouncing one of their fusions costs them at least two monsters (three is it's Heraklinos). I know there are a few bugs in this theory but it's what I'm working with. So now that I've established I need to play a bounce game I figured I'd use a rock control deck since rocks are the bounciest monster type in the game (ironic but true), and plus they have a great trump card in Megarock Dragon that can flip a defensive play into an offensive one, possibly turning the tide of the duel, plus if somehow you're able to survive an assault from Judgment Dragon or Dark Armed Dragon then having 5 rock monsters in your grave will let Megarock Dragon overpower either of them, and since they'll have wiped out your field with those monsters having 5 in your graveyard suddenly sounds more realistic.
Well that's the logic that was going through my head when I put this together, and I'd really, really, really appreciate some help in fixing this deck. Thank you for reading.

sangan, spirit reaper, snipe hunter, gigantes?
book of moon? book of taiyou
id say get rid of the compulsory evacuation device and put in 2 book of moons a another bribe
get rid of the Guardian Statues and put in the sangan, spirit reaper, snipe hunter
i dont really like the rats in here maybe get rid of 2 for 2 gigantes (mostly as quick tribute bait since the guardian sphinx are your main big hitter

Bounce monsters like Guardian Statue and all that do not counter Dark Armed Dragon or Lightsworn. As those two decks have their monsters graved with Destiny Draw, Dark Grepher, Lightsworn effects etc. And both Dark Armed Dragon and Judgment Dragon have no problems with monsters.
Solemn Judgment is infinitely better than Dark Bribe. You can run both. Run Mind Crush as you run Compulsory, Forced Back and a lot of "send back to the hand" cards. Non-chainables such as Ordeal of the Traveler and Fairy Box are bad. Consider running better cards like Waboku or Threatening Roar.

One of the reasons I used Rat over Sangan is because rat can search out almost any monster in the deck and put it straight onto the field, while Sangan wouldn't do much more than this, plus it's limited, plus it moves the monster to my hand which could cost me a barrier to my lifepoints and a special summon that could speed up the deck. I can understand the need for Gigantes and I'll be sure to add some, and if that means I'll be falling back on Guardian Sphinx then I can also understand getting rid of Guardian Statue to replace with staples.

I understand that, it's mostly my attempt to slow them down, besides it's not really a serious attempt to revolutionize the meta-game, I'm just a recreational player who likes to mess around with different deck types. ^_^
If you think I should use Solemn judgement then I can appreciate that, but what should I remove to add them? And um, I don't see what's so bad about the non-chainable traps, I mean potentially they could deflect more attacks than Waboku or Threatening Roar right and I'd only have to draw one card to do that...

Cards like Dark Crow, Macro Cosmos, Dimensional Fissure, The Transmigration Prophecy, Kycoo, The Ghost Destroyer are all different ways to counter DAD and Lightsworn.

I know, but as I said before I like to play around with different deck types so I was looking for a more unusual way of trying to counter them, and I know that it may not be all that effective, but as I said I'm a recreational player.
