- Glowing Lightning Tutorial - Required:
Small knowledge of Photoshop and ImageReady.
Adobe Photoshop CS/CS2 (or similar)
Adobe ImageReady (Comes with CS/CS2 - not sure about others)
Vreid Lightning Brushes: I WILL UPLOAD THEM WHEN I GET SOME SPACE, BUT MY SPACE IS DOWN AND I COULDNT FIND THEM ON DEVIANTART WITHOUT SEARCH... Difficulty:
Easy
Type:
Animation
Time Needed:
10 – 20 min (less if experienced)
STEP 1:
Get a good sig... I will use this one...

It has a black lightening strike, but we want it to flash, so dont put that in...
STEP 2:
Now, to put in a lightning strike we use the HISTORY BRUSH below the normal brush tool. After using this, you will notice a transparent bit in the shape of a lightning bolt.
To colour the lightning bolt, make a new layer under the layer of the sig, and use the fill black.
It should look something like this:

STEP 3:
Now duplicate the layer, and make a colour overlay white.

STEP 4:
Now make duplicate the layer 3 more times so that you have a layer window that looks something like this:

STEP 5: Now change the colour overlays on the different layers so that it gradually gets whiter, until in the fifth background layer, it is completely white.
Now it should look like this:

STEP 6: Now import the image into ImageReady (Shift+Ctrl+M).
Make 9 Frames, one for each colour + cooldown for a believable loop. In the first frame, click on the eyes next to the background layers to make them all invisible, and then starting from the black layer, make each frame have the next lighter colour up until you get to the white, and then go back down again, returning back to black.
STEP 7 - Finishing Touches: Now all you have to do is chaange the delay times for each frame, and then Save Optimized As... And there you have it!
Congratulations, You should have something like this:
