This tutorial will show you how to make a steel green pipe like this one:

1.Create a new document sized 200x400.

2.Grab the rectangular marquee tool and make a box like in the picture and fill it with a gradient of your choice (when using the gradient tool hold down shift to make it straight).

3.Make Sure the recangle with the gradient is still selected and go Edit>Tansform>Distort, hold down shift and alt and grab one of te corners and bring it to the center
like this:

4.Make sure you unselect the rectangle the go Filter>Distort>spere.Make it like this:

5.Now go and create a new document 200x25, fill the top half with grey and the bottom half with white.

6.Now go Edit>Define Pattern, Call it Stripe.

7.Now go and create a new document 5x5,Zoom in as much as you can, grab the pencil tool and make it like this:

8.Now once again go Edit>Define Pattern, Call this one dots.

9.Now we want to go back to the pipe and Ctrl click the layer with the pipe on.

10.With it selected go Edit>Fill, use these settings and make sure you select the dots pattern and click ok.

11.Right click on the layer with the pipes and use these:

12.Move it up to the top:

13.Crop the image so it looks better:

14.Create a new layer and go Edit>Fill, This time use these and make sure you select the stripes pattern:

15.Now on the stripes layer go Layer>Group With Previous.

16.Change the stripes layer to soft light.

17.Add a color ballance to give it some color.

It looks ok, but i dont really like the stripes :P I could use it at the bottom of a sig or such, just rotate and yeah... i dunno, but its ok... its kinda hard to use though...

Good job. Would make a nice finishing touch to a sig backgroud.
