Glowing Text Tutorial
Required:
Adobe Photoshop CS (or similar)
Adobe ImageReady

Difficulty:
Easy

Type:
Animation

Time Needed:
10 – 20 min (less if experienced)

STEP 1:
To start, make or get a picture, brushed or whatever, doesn’t matter…
For Our purposes I will use this picture:

STEP 2:
Now add some text, do whatever you like to it, but make sure you don’t make any Strokes above 2 pixels, as it will obstruct the glowing effect.

STEP 3:
Duplicate the text layer.
Now Right click on the [T] Icon and click on the Blending Options option on the menu.
On the window that comes up, check on the Outer Glow Box, and then go into the Outer Glow Menu, and change the effects till you get the desired effect for the glow, but make sure you leave the pixel size of the glow 5.

STEP 4:
Depending on how fast/slow/big/small you want the glow effect, repeat steps 2 and 3 about 3 – 5 times adding 5 pixels (or desired amount) each time. I will do it 3 times, so I have 4 frames with increasing glow size.

STEP 5:
Now import the picture to ImageReady (Shift+Ctrl+N) and Create some new frames. For me, I need to create 9 frames because I want double the amount of glow frames I made, plus one as an empty frame to start it over again (because we want a believable loop) so 4x2+1 = 9. work out how many frames you need, and make them.

STEP 6:
Now select the first frame, and make all the frames, but the one which has no glow effect invisible. Repeat this process making the next one visible, and the rest invisible, only making one visible at a time, until you get to the biggest glow. When you get to the biggest glow effect, reverse it and go the other way again, decreasing the frames until you get to number one again. Put all the frames on a difference of 0.1 seconds, and save as optimized (.gif) and away you go!

Well done, you have completed My Tutorial, here is the picture of the finished product.
