Title: Those comics of yesteryear
Minxy - March 9, 2006 07:54 AM (GMT)
We were talking about comics driving home in the car last night and I was thinking of the ones I bought as a girl. It took me ages to remember their names but can anyone remember Jackie or Blue Jeans?? They seemed to be the 'IN' booklets to buy back then.

When I was really small, I had one with "Nurse Nancy" at the back who was a little girl who looked after toys in a hospital. Cannot for the life of me remember what it was called.
I remember Jackie and Blue Jeans. I used to get Jackie when I was a bit older. :D

Just did a google search. It was "Nancy the little nurse" from *Twinkle*. She used to work with her grandad Mr Jingle

Oh i loved Jackie, and Blue Jeans. I used to work in a newsagents and do a paper round, so i always looked forward to a saturday when i would get paid, buy my Jackie and Blue Jeans (was there one called "Patches" too??), go to the bakers to buy a fresh loaf for my mum, and hot sausage rolls all round. Mmnnn, those were the days......
My daughter isn't it to girlie things either - she is sort of goth come grebo(!), and loves Kerrang magazine - which i may add has been around for years too.....
What about sweets from yesterday??? Spangles, white and chocolate cigarettes where you could actually eat the waxy paper, sherbert pips???????

I used to love Spangles, especially the opaque ones they would put in. Remember Pacers? Green and white chewy mints.
