Title: Project Check-Up Time
Description: Okay, who's got a project?

MaverickPrincess - July 31, 2005 09:15 PM (GMT)
I guess I'll start. I'm finishing up "Voyage to Zircalon" which has been in fits and starts for a year and a half (mostly due to other obligations). The sequel to "Voyage to Zircalon" is in the planning stages, and then there are a couple others on the chart as well.

Okay I must reply but by now my own efforts have become ridiculous.
Devoted to Scenario, I need to get to completing my game!
That's all I'll say until they're done.
The first installment of my quadrilogy.
I also have made parts of the second, and gathered plenty of resources: midi; and some images for my series.
I also have in mind to make a game called "Apprentice" which will hopefully act as a tutorial to Scenario at the same time as being a parody on plenty of things.
Finally, there's the story concept I have based on flashbacks and crimes of the characters, codenamed: "Haunted".
I think after I complete my first game, I'll start being less exclusive about my projects, it's time to show that I too am a worldbuilder. :(

'Haunted' sounds interesting.

I'm gradually working on Multiplex, when I'm not working on other projects. I don't feel like I have a deadline, so I'm not too worried about production pace. Those of you that have played the 'demo' of this game, 'SoulGate', will have a rough idea of what the game will be about.

I'm having tons of computer trouble here, so the projects keep being pushed back later and later! >_< You can always check for updates at http://www.paalonline.tk and see the latest news, that is if the computers don't crash on us!!

* Seems some stuff got shifted sideways in my move to Scenari3. <_<
You can download a copy of it here.

Use right-click-save-as.

There will be a new bulletin this next week and every week thereafter:

http://geocities.com/scenari3

I am going to build regular bulletins and (provided I know what I'm doing !) open up a new area in this forum to answer questions regarding the new Scenario3 underway.

I know this section seems to be for PC Scenario Maker world building projects but..

I did make a small launcher for Scenario 3. Right now it just provides a pretty Scenario icon and when clicked it launches a minimalist help file for the keys. Once the help window closes it launches Scenario 3 in VBA. My idea for extending it would be to have it facilitate managing GBA savestates as different project files for Scenario. Also, with further tweaking it could be used as a transparent launcher for individual projects. One could develop in the GBA Scenario and then wrap it up in my front end to launch it like any other PC game.

Hi MoonGoon:

* It sounds very much like you've written a program I've had planned !

If you'd like to email me a copy of it, and it works well, I'll put it on the new site for downloading.

Thanks for your appreciation in the Scenario project !
I am still restructuring, but it looks like what is going to be constant is:

up to 15x9 maps that are tiled 15x9, scrolling from one room to another.
So 135 rooms altogether.

The user posted image project currently is using only LARGE text, that is 16x16. I am going to ponder over this and see if this is the way to go, or to use 8x8 font, but I can't have both with system restrictions it seems (1024 8x8 characters max).

There will be true random encounters where you don't place the critters, and have ability to fight more than one sprite-type with different colors (Slime, Mold, Jelly), etc. where the colors you choose directly affect the damage they do.

Use feedback and suggestions for the new project underway are greatly appreciated !

Sent a zip of my simple front-end to scenari3

All that's really needed is the front-end executable, .dbc.gba (Scenario 3 Gameboy ROM file) and the VisualBoyAdvance.exe. The front-end generates a VBA.INI for itself.

The .GMD file is the source written in Game Maker 5.3

Actually, if the PC version of Scenario ever gets revived Game Maker 6 would be a good language to use..

Hi MoonGoon:

* Front-end for S3 received. This is nice work. :)
I'll go to post it before Monday evening.

Scenario3 progresses !
When I get back, I'll post just how I'm going to take maximum advantage of the 64k there and planned libraries you can append to the S3 engine to improve and enhance your worldbuilding experience.

* New bulletin posted.

MoonGoon, other Worldbuilders can download your engine from my site but you should sponsor it on a site of your own as it is too big to carry for very long on my own 10meg site.

Thanks !
