Hello !
* Yep, like always, it's been ages since I've been here.
OK, my computer crashed (again), however, I managed to recover most of it, except my GBA work. While I backed it up, there was the death of a close friend and I completely shirt-tailed the backups.
What's happening now ?
Gameboy Advance is a defunct machine now. The last game for it was sold about a month ago. The DS has taken over.
Where does this leave you and me ?
I am earnestly working back in GFABasic and Basic4GL to make the RM I had planned earlier. Don't worry, I won't be going back to DragonBASIC cause that language is a B!TCH to program in !
What else have I been doing ?
Quite a bit !
I downloaded an interesting Freeware program called VideoLAN, in it, you can send a video from one computer to another.
I thought about it, wrote a quick program (16k) in GFABasic to open a virtual LAN computer (the internet) to play a 2-hour movie I uploaded to a file-server.
You don't need to download the movie, it's STREAMED over the internet. This means, once it's up and playing, you get to watch all of the movie without having to download anything else.
The video I prepared is, "Return To House On Haunted Hill." Rated R
Where can I watch this movie ?
You need to download the Freeware VideoLAN here (10mb):
| CODE |
http://download36.mediafire.com/tizfz0qm94dg/z3mlxlytoao/videolan+0.8.6d-win32.exe
|
And the player I wrote here (16k):
| CODE |
http://download259.mediafire.com/yjdjatnnzz3g/mtjmmmmz9nj/RTHOHH.EXE
|
Run the Player, and the move starts !
If it says the AVI is broken, just click [NO] and the movie will begin full-screen.
Theres lots of player controls for your movie so right-click the mouse to see them all.
Also, please let me know how well my movie player works for you (I haven't tried it on other computers except Dads'). If it works out, I can post some more movies in the future if you like.
Enjoy The Show !
