Iranian Salukis

A great site regarding Iranian Salukis imported to Germany. Unfortunately the english version seems to be down just now.

Great and very workmen like Saluki's,their of the type i prefer.Two years ago their was a person in the UK who imported genuine Iranian pedigree stock and the British KC wont register or recognise them :angry: .
Shame as it would boost the bloodlines of the "show" breeders dogs and they seem to match the KC's show standard;

I also prefer this type, it is infuriating that the KC and many current Show breeder's see fit to close registration to almost all country of origin Saluki's, actually thinking their show Saluki's are better than the COO Saluki's. How dare they!! These Salukis are THE ORIGNALS, selected for the same qualities as Saluki's have been for thousands of years.

If I ever have the good fortune to be able to aquire COO Saluki's the KC can shove there Registration up their arses :angry: They have destroyed almost every breed they become involved with.

In my country we fortunately have an energic desert saluki breeder, who struggles for the origin type of salukis - in words and action!

Her website is: Qashani

Enjoy it! :)

Yes a great web site and Saluki's, I do like the grizzles.

The Iranian man with the large fethered black and tan had a good site with some wonderful photos but I can't find it now.

Also the link to India dogs is great, rarely do we get to see or read of these Sub Saluki types.

Thanks

Mark

I guess a little about me is in order first. I have had Kurdish Salukis since 1988. My history and philosophy are up on my website <www.arteclectic.com >

I have been dealing with Cyrus for years and am a great admirer of both Cyrus's efforts and those of Monika Dahncke. They have worked hard to bringing the Iranian hound to the western world.

As these hounds are VERY successful on the track they do face a bit of "opposition" and as is always true, the minute on of them has great sucess it is shouted from the German rooftops that the hound is a mix of something to Saluki denying the heritage of the Saluki!! Most amazing.

I have two bitches from Cyrus, Sheyda of Iran and Nazee, both imported from the Bokan region of Kordestan. I also have a crop earred male from Sanandaj, Sarban, who was imported by Cyrus's brother Iraj.

If in the vicinity of Hamburg, a visit to Cyrus is in order, he is a most delightful host and the hounds are most amazing.
