Title: Taigan puppies
Martin - January 9, 2008 09:35 PM (GMT)
Hallo! I am planning the first taigan litter in the UE. It might be born around Feb, 20th, 2008.
Please, check my site. It will be ready within some days.

I would be glad if I could pass at least some of the puppies to hunters.

The ultrosonography has been done today and it has confirmed the bitch is pregnant. The pups should arrive around Feb,20th.
Mark, you would be a perfect owner for a taigan as you ARE a hunter. I am sure you would be amazed to see a taigan hunting.

Hi Martin,
Thats good news, I would love to have a taigan and one day I do hope to.
Just out of interest what height and typical weight are the parents?
I spoke to a hunter with Taigans From Kyrygzstan Whilst I was in Kazakhstan and he told me good Taigans went to europe, in russia however there are a lot of bad taigans.
Am I right in thinking pups from the EU would still need to be 8 months old before they could pass a rabies vet check to travel under the pet passport scheme?
Regards
Mark

Unless the pup comes from a rabies free country it would still have to be quarantined, either with the breeder or after it arrives in the UK. You would have to check the PET scheme to see which countries the UK considers 'rabies free.' Hawaii, maybe? Antarctica, for sure:) When we were discussing this on the other thread, I looked into it and it's a piece of work; they even dictate which airports you can ship a dog from in the US. Like the airport has anything to do with anything.

Its crazy in this day and age that they can't just use proven veterinary science to certify that a dog is rabies free.
I've looked into it little more also and also found that only some airline companies and airports are licenced to transport animals.
Quarantine kennels prices are around 1600 uk pounds (my pound sign does'nt work on this computer Oops! ) and the nearest one is simply too far away to visit enough.
I wonder if Hawaii or Antarctica have any good Saluki types.

So now you know - it's better to live in mainland Europe :jumping:

It certainly would make things easier, there is no doubt about that. Even Ireland now I believe you can set up your own quarantine kennel to keep your dog in for the 6 months

There hear-says that Sweden will have to change their absurd law on entering pets to their land.
