Kryptonite Bar –

Now, Me being the Ultimate Smallville-aholic i have decided to try to take on the look of kryptonite. In one of the episode 13 of the 3rd season (don’t ask why I know exactly what episode) there is found many bars of kryptonite in Lionel Luthors Safe. Now, if you’re looking for a professional looking kryptonite bar, you’ve come to the wrong place :P, however I am making a semi-realistic Kryptonite Bar, and if you’d like to see the end product, just scroll down to the bottom. Hope you like it

==============================================

1.Create a New Document. (mine was 640x480 pixels) fill it with black.

2.Create a New layer (Layer > New Layer)

3. Using the Rectangular Marquee Tool, make a selection like mine:

Fill The box with color : 00FF2A (which should be a bright green)

4. Now that we have that we need to create some depth to the bar. Take your Pen Tool and make the setting like this:

5. Now using the pen tool, make a path similar to mine:

Now that you have that, we need to make that into a selection.

6. Grab The Convert Pen Tool.user posted image. And Drag over all the points of your Pen Path. Then Right Click it and select “Make Selection”

7. Now take the color that we had earlier (00FF2A) and fill in the selection. Put a black line down the Crease Edge, to give it more Depth:

8. Now go: “Filter > Render > Difference Clouds.” Press “Ctrl+F” twice to repeat the filter.

9. Now go: Filter > Sketch > Chrome”
(Detail : 10 | Smoothness: 10)

10. Next go : “Filter > Artistic > Plastic Wrap”

11. Now Place a Lens Flare in the Top right Corner of your bar.

12. Now for the lighting Effects. Go:
“Filter > Render > Lighting Effects” with these settings:

The Style is “Blue Omni” however, instead of making it blue, click on the color box. And change the blue color that they have selected into this Bright Green: (2AFC01) and place it where I placed mine. So when you’re done it should resemble this:

13. Now duplicate that Layer. (layer > Duplicate Layer) and go: “Filter > Liquify” and use these settings :

Now swirl the bar to make it like this, trying to keep it in the rectangular shape though:

Click Ok.

14. Now set the blending mode of that layer to “Soft Light”

Heres What it should look like Now:

15. Merge The Two Kryptonite Layers together(layer > Merge down)

16. Now its time for the outer glow.

Use These Settings:

Once Again The Green Color that we use is (2AFC01)

Now it should look like this:

17. :OPTIONAL:, if you want, you can stop there. But if you want to add a reflection like I did, then I can walk you through it.

First you duplicate your layer.

Then you’re gonna need to distort it. (Edit > Transform > Distort) then just grab the top point and drag it down underneath the bar. Set the Opacity on it to: “Opacity – 50% | Fill – 85%” . Move it around until it looks nice. Heres how mine came out:

Well, it’s not exactly the greatest Bar of Kryptonite, but I think that it looks exceptionally well. If you need help with any of it feel free to ask me, and I’ll do my best to answer. Wow, this was a long tutorial. :) sorry guys. Let me know what you think of it
