Frozen Molecule:
(This Tutorial is Picture free until the end.)

Step 1 – New Document 432 x 432 pixels.


Step 2 – Fill with Black


Step 3 – Filter > Render > Lens Flare (Place it Around the top left corner)


Step 4 – Filter > Render > Lens Flare (Place it opposite the previous lens flare.)


Step 5 – Filter > Stylize > Glowing Edges
(Edge Width – 2 | Edge Brightness – 20 | Smoothness – 1)


Step 6 – Duplicate Layer


Step 7 – Filter > Stylize > Find Edges


Step 8 – Filter > Sketch > Chrome ( Detail – 0 | Smoothness – 10)


Step 9 – Image > Adjustments > Invert (Ctrl + I)


Step 10 – Filter > Render > Difference Clouds
Press “Ctrl + f” once to repeat the last effect.


Step 11 – Duplicate Layer.


Step 12 – Filter > Render > Lighting Effects
Settings : (Style : Blue Omni | Intensity : 46 | Gloss : 100 | Material : 100 | Exposure : 100 | Ambience : 35 )


Step 13 – Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen More
Then Set The Blending Mode to “Screen”

END RESULT:

That looks really cool. (No pun intended).

Your Icy parts are bigger than mine but I think I know how you did that now anyway.
