Grunge Sig Tutorial:1. Make a New Document (I used ‘350x120’ pixels)
2. Fill the Document with Black.
3. Now first off, I suggest you go to DeviantART.com and search “Photoshop Grunge Brushes” and download a few different one.
4. First Thing you want to do, is create a new layer “Layer > New Layer” and use your grunge brushes to fill up the canvas. I like to use different shades of grey, from White to Black. That way it gives the sig more depth and detail. Here’s how I did mine:

5. Now Drag in your favorite render. I’m Using Chris. I tend to get large renders, cause I like ghosting them. As you’ll see.

6. Ctrl+Click your Render Layer (This should put a selection around it) right+click the selection and choose “Feather” make the radius of 10 pixels (or whatever works for you. Now right+click again and choose “Select Inverse” then press delete.

7. Now, select your Render layer, and press “Ctrl+J” to duplicate the layer. Then press “Ctrl+T” and size down the new layer to fit the sig. Look to the pic for reference.

8. Now select your First Render layer, and drop the opacity down to “30%”

9. Create a new layer, above your first Grunge layer. Set the Blending mode to “Overlay” and add a few more grunge strokes.

10. Now select your top layer, and go “Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation” and use these settings.
Should Look Something Like this Now:

11. Now add your Text, I used font “Sabotage” for my name. I also added a 1 Pixel Black Stroke to the Layer, and used the Default for Drop Shadow.

12. Now Press “Ctrl+J” on the text layer, drop the opacity down to 37%, and press “Ctrl+T” to rotate it around a little bit. Make sure you put the copied Text layer, underneath the real one.
13. Repeat Step 12, except rotate the text a little further. Should look like this after your done:

14. Now its time to add a border. Make a new layer, fill it with black, and set the mode to “Screen”
Now Go into your layer styles and use these settings.
Stroke:
Pattern Overlay:
Gradient Overlay:
Inner Shadow:Use Default Settings.
Should look something like this now:

And that’s your basic Grunge Sig.
