Title: Tyrannosauride Symposium
Description: at the Burpee Museum in September

Anyone here going to this symposium on "The Origin, Systematics, and Paleobiology of the Tyrannisauridae" on September 16-8th of 2005?

Looks like Phil Currie, Michael Parrish and others are the symposium editors. Apparently the symposium is happening at the same time that the museum will install the 2002 Hell Creek Tyrannosaur, "Jane". Anyone submit papers to it either?

According to this page, Bob Bakker will do a talk on T. Rex being agile, Tracy Ford will talk about Systematics, Dr. Holtz will talk about their Ecomorphology and Larry Witmer will do another one of those great "head" talks, focusing on "the brain and ear region of tyrannosaurs". Seems there will be a couple of talks about the somewhat contentious status of Nanotyrannus also.

Apparently this will also be the first symposium ever that focuses strictly on the Tyrannosaurids.
I'd like to go to it but won't be able to. It'd be interesting to hear any remarks from anyone that ends up attending.

Wow, so looks like we won't be getting a report on that meeting! I had wanted very much to go to, but I don't think I can even get out to the SVP meeting this year, let alone this. :(
