Title: Camarasaurus Workgroup

Just wondering if anyone knows the status of the Camarasaurus Workgroup started at Norman SVP. I was there at that meeting, but I never got anything from Craig Sundell that it was going to be continued... <_<

I was there too. Don't hold your breath on anything from Craig. The only thing ever to come out of that meeting was when Matt Christopher put together a Camarasaurus bibliography/reference list.

Hey, I found a copy of the bibliograpghy list that Matt Christopher put together. If anyone wants one, just PM me, and I'll email it off.
PS has everyone heard of Dr. Ray Wilhite's sauropod image collection project yet? Sounds like a fun project, and I have a ton of photos!

Seems like this forum would be a great place to revitalize such an effort and do the 'work' in. Camarasaurus, you seem to be pretty familiar with the people involed, maybe you can re-direct (with kind permission from admin here obviously)

My original plan was to have this setup just for the workgroup in early 2003. However, Craig Sundell and Matt Christopher never responded to my idea and I abandoned it. <_< I then decided to make it more general and have the open community involved.
Which brings me to your second point. As members here, never be afraid of inviting anyone here. This forum is for the whole paleontology community with a scientific slant. You should perhaps feel obligated to invite people to join. :omg: ;)

I think it'd be a great idea to get some camara-dorks on here to do some work. No one even replied to Matt's email the first time around, and the whole meeting, as I remember it in Norman, Started out well, but just degenerated into people chatting about everything, and no one really sure what the whole aim was.
I'd like to team up with a few people for 2 papers, just off the top of my head. But would an open forum like this work for unpublished/soon to be published data?
