G'd day 2 every1...does any1 know, what actually happened to the "terror-bird of Antarctica", once said to be the largest Phorurshracid ever (3.7 m tall, around 800 kg)? thx, in advance

Are you sure you might not be referring to Antarctica? There used to be a really good website on phorusrhacids but it's not around any longer. :(

Well my only source is an old book from 1993, where author states, that this bird was found in 1987 in Antarctica and is known only by its giant beak...
