Title: Dwarf Trike in the Hell Creek?

Camarasaurus - October 13, 2005 12:35 AM (GMT)
I wanted to start a new topic on this instead of dragging another ond on a tangent.

Dinochick you seem to have hinted you know a lottle about this. I have parts of 2 of these little buggers floating around in the lab. This year we collected a little bit, including brow horns, a dorsal vert, and possibly a metatarsal. That site is going to be revisited next year.

The weird thing isn't the small browhorns, it's the tiny (for a trike) dorsal. The neural arch is fused to the centrum, which seems to indicate it isn't a juvenile, yet it is less than half the height of many trike verts I've worked on.

Any theories on the critter?

Comment away! I was getting to upload pics, but Photobucket seems to be down right now. Hopefully the verdict is that it's not something special, as I am sitting on a skull right now that I do NOT want tyo try and put back together.

Feel free to send the skull my way :D I need a project of my own to work on at the moment...... ;)
Anyway, the consenus is that they really are just juv. Tric.s...even though it would be cool to have a new sp. it probably isn't :sarcasm: :( , just people finally collecting smaller material rather than trophy skulls
