Does anyone have any comments or thoughts on this story from cnn?
http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/science/09/09...reut/index.htmlAn 18 meter wingspan sounds a little extreme to me but I don't know much about the physics involved in aeordynamics. It would be awesome if true tho... :D
An 18m span would be amazing. I've put together a cast of a 7m wingspan, and scaling up... the humerei would look like something from a smal sauropod!
On the other hand, it wouldn't be the first time estimates are overblown when scaling up an animal based on individual bones. I'll take a wait-and see approach on this one, but it would be pretty neat if it turns out to be accurate!
