Yes, you heard correctly! A contract has been signed with Warner Bros. Pictures (sadly, not Pixar which wouldn't have made the movie so bad) to make a CGI-Style animated movie that apparently features all "50 different pet species." The article also states that Neopets was started in 1991, therefore putting the whole announcement's authenticity into question.
Producers include Doug Dohring, who lots of people hate , and Dylan Summers, who has produced other popular movies like A Cinderella Story and the Agent Cody Banks movies, and the actual Neopets company will co-finance.
However, is this really something we'd like to see? It's generally the first symptom to the downfall of a popular fad. Similar things have happened to the now dead Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! fads. Will it really lead to the death of Neopets as we know it? Or is this an excellent opportunity for the website and company? As always, only time will tell.

Also, to stop the rumors, the movie will not be set in Jelly World. That excerpt on the Jelly Blobs of Doom page is a mere reference to an old sci-fi movie, not the one above.
