Ok... so far we have:

Cosplay contest- standard issue cosplay con with our little spin on it

Best dressed congoer - give an award to the guy we think looks coolest in the con (may just sample the cosplay audience)

Cosplay swimwear - Held in the pool, a contest for the best cosplay swimsuit!

Car Cosplay - Who has the best animed out car!


And now the two suggestions I'm not sure about:
1) Worst cosplay contest. AKA - actually compete for the worst costume - My problem: Do we want to waste valuable programming time for this?

2) Adult Cosplay: slightly risquey costumes. My issue: seems like a lot of trouble, and would anyone actually do this?

well, I think the worst costume would be a waste of time. Because if someone dressed up and said 'This is so an so's costume' it would already be the worst and there would be a bunch of people who just showed up in like cat ears or something.

If either of my costume ideas see the light of day I might go for best dressed, but otherwise...well I wouldn't mind watching any of the other contests. Concede the point on Worst Cosplay: Waste of time.

why would anyone want to be in the worst costume.im just probally doing the regular cosplay.

Oh sorry. I didn't know there was one. But yeah the worst costume contest would just most likely be a bunch of people who didn't even try.

I like the car cosplay idea. I'd bring an old Jalopy and go as Chrno xD

Hehe, I used to watch 'Transformers' before I knew it was an anime...before I even knew what anime actually was. It's not on air anymore in my area though (maybe it's on cable, but I don't have cable)

Go to Jo Ann:

Find some of the cheapest plain cloth they carry and buy a bit
Get something like Stitch witchery (i think there are non-iron type stuff)
If any other accesory type stuff is dirt cheap grab it. (hey, clear out their clearance stuff?)

Maybe random extra cardboard and or tape/glues

30 min cosplay contest! (as in make it in 30 min) Dunno how well it would work though ^.^;;;;;;;;

I like the idea of doing plushie cosplay. Who can dress up their plushie the best.

Possibly have seperate contests - one just for skits and another fashion type one judged on craftsmanship

Oooo cool things. I love the car cosplay. I cant wait to see that :lol: But the worst cosplay. I mean come on how mean. But then again that might turn out interesting. The tears the drama :D

I think "most hilarious" costume or something like that would be fun. Maybe "most obscure costume?" Any of those would be fun!

My car is a moogle. hehe (^^) I even have a little hula moogle I made for the dash.

Are there any rules for the cosplay contest yet? I'm just curious to know if or what the time limit will be for skits.

We'll post the rules after the Jan 20th meeting. Likewise if you have any suggestions, give them to us by then.

As for limits and such things, the overall rule of thumb at this con is "as long as it's reasonable it's ok"

You could probably still try for a skit/judges award with a pieced together costume if they allow it into the contest - but I don't think it would deserve its own category.

Anyhow, we'll be judging a lot of things, and craftsmanship will be one of them. A storebought costume isn't going to do well in that catagory, but you'll still have plenty of other areas to attempt for!
