Does anyone know why this series is getting a remake? I watched the other version a couple of years back. It was okay...just a bit annoying with some of the characters (Yuuichi's cousin comes to mind and that fox girl), and the animation was very prett and relaxing.

I'm curious if anything is going to be changed. I may check it out if that's the case.

Because Toei sucked at animating it
Because Toei kind of...forgot a lot of stuff
Because the Toei release didn't even have the actual Kanon music (how sad)
Because Kyoto Animation did awesome on Air and so many people love it
Because Key/VisualArts want to remind the world that Air isn't the only thing they've ever made
Because Key/VisualArts needs more money
Because animating CLANNAD (finally) would be a great idea
Because someone has to compete with Aquaplus and the recent adaptation of Utawaremono
Because they want to screw up doing a remake like Aquaplus did with To Heart.
Because making more Full Metal Panic would have been a better idea.
Because making more Mushishi would have been a MUCH, MUCH better idea.

Lots of reasons.
