Title: Video Rooms
Description: FYI
Kaisermikeb - August 9, 2006 08:31 AM (GMT)
Currently it looks like we will have 3 large rooms at our disposal for video showins, and then a number of smaller sleeping rooms with beds removed.
Of the large rooms:
One room will always show "Kid Safe" films. Note: This no way implies that these are kid-oriented films, only that there isn't much objectionable content
One Room is likely to be a (or have a segment) that are "Staff picks". Aka, the shows that are important/meaningful/beloved to us staffers.
One will be everything else, and late at night is likely to show hentai.
Of the small rooms:
One will be a documentery room, showing documentaries about anime, anime fans, and japanese pop culture. This room is also known to show live action works the exemplify aspects of fans, or help us better understand important anime directors.
One will be a "bad anime" room, where you can relax and "MST3K" some easy targets.
There may also be a "classics room" where we show a bunch of Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Robotech, and anything else that brought a lot of fans to the table. I may also toy with the idea of trying to show as much of one of these shows as possible in the weekend.
One of these rooms may also be used for collective gaming, if we decide to bring that back. If we do we'll need more help in procuring games that are fun to play in a group (don't worry, Oregon Trail WILL return!), and at night we definatly need to get ahold of some serious H-dating sims!

Sounds great to me!
I think a classics room would be awesome. Please make it more than a "might be". I've seen a lot of new anime, but I've seen less of the classics...and classics are hard to come by (online, on tv, ANYWHERE!).
So yeah, it would be much appreciated

There should be a "mind rape" segment in one of the rooms, showing some shows or movies that totally mess with the mind.
Just a thought though.
Can't wait to check out the classics room though.

No AMVs, eh? I've checked those out at Ohayocon, and they've kinda been running through my mind ever since. Showings sound good, though!

I think we show amv's. We have an AMV contest afterall.

Omg, Oregon Trail? That's love right there. I now have high hopes of dying of dysentery at least once or twice over the course of the weekend!

Wow, I haven't played Oregon Trail since elementary school. That's a lot of memories right there...like your entire party dying from starvation or some illness right before they reach their destination.

My guys usually got wiped out by maleria half way through the trip.... Or something like that.. I haven't played it for like.. 8 years.

For me, they always drop dead from the German Measles for no reason it always seems. Healthy one day, dead the next.
I also bring on the deaths of a couple oxen...

Yeah.. My oxen would die all the time. xD Shooting the buffalo for food was fun though.

Hehe, Buffalo hunting.
It the 2nd Oregon Trail, if your oxen died, you could always slaughter them for food. That was always amusing.
Especially if your party got food posioning from it.
There was a lot of things in Oregon Trail 2 that were cool...you could hunt during a buffalo stampede, and you might get trampled but Buffalo. Hunting is dangerous though, you can shoot yourself, get attacked bya bear, or killed by a mountain lion.
The orginal is definitely the coolest game of the lot.
