My transmission went out on my car a few weeks ago, and I've been debating whether or not to fix the transmission or get a new car. Some weird gremlins that have happened with mine recently, although sporadic and seemingly benign, have told me that it's probably a better idea to get a new used car.
So then I need some help.
I'm looking for something a bit more sporty than my current full-size sedan ('94 Eagle Vision TSi, 3.5L V6). It has to be automatic, and I'm preferable to green or blue coloration. My preference would be something like a Pontiac Grand Prix or any other 6-cylinder coupe. I'll also deal with a 4-cylinder coupe or a 6-cylinder sedan, although compact is better than large (current gas prices have been speaking to me). A part of me is praying for a semi-powerful coupe to show off, but I'm not so sure that's necessary or even advisable. The body style should be more aerodynamic, like most cars of the '90s, rather than boxy like most of the '80s.
I can only afford to spend about $800 on this car; however the Eagle should have a trade in value of at least $1,500.
I'm currently looking at a '98 Dodge Neon and a '93 Chevrolet Beretta Coupe, but could always use back ups in case those fall through.
If anyone knows of any good deals (esp. in Northeast Ohio) or has any thoughts of makes/models that fit my needs and are known to be reliable so I should hunt them down, let me know.
HONDA! HONDA! HONDA! HONDA! GO FOR A USED HONDA! My friend Dennis is driving a 1987 Honda Accord DX With over 126,000 Miles and the only problem with it that needed repair the whole time was the alternator! You can buy it from a honda dealer for about fifteen hundred bucks. there not as flashy as the other cars on your list but the engine will last forever!
I don't like Hondas >_<
Although I did see a mildly sportified Civic today that looked kinda cool. But it wasn't for sale.
