Hey, the hotel may not look the best, but we're AP! We'll make it rock your socks no matter where it's at!

We looked through a number of hotels after we discovered that the hotel we had this year was booked next spring. Mike settled on this one for a number of reasons, but it boils down to being the best bang for the buck. Would you rather us have a huge hotel and no guests? What are you going to the con for; to look at the pretty hotel or to have fun being otaku? :-P

Actually almost all of those on the list were either considered or ineligable. Many of them don't have nearly enough space, and two of the ones that do are counting the GCCC (where Ohayocon is) and we don't want to be there this year (also... expensive!!)

The first one on the list is really the only ringer of the bunch, and it would have been worth considering. It seems a little nice for an anime con though, but I'll keep my eye out on it. A list like this is helpful from time to time, and we did miss some things, but overall I think we would have ended up where we did even if we had had this resource.

Our new hotel isn't terrible, and actually beats a lot of these in terms of space, and probably in cost too. Obviously last years hotel was the most cool, but while the sales staff said they wanted us back, they didn't persue us that heavily. We would probably have been willing to do our con on Easter, but they never got back to us on it.
Hey, if they don't want to do the best business they have ever done on easter weekend, that's their problem!
The new hotel is doable, we can make it work. It's actually got a lot of potential, it's just not as centralized as the old one and lacks a decent main programming space.

Suggestions on how to fix that are welcome!

yayness!! and we believe in you to do an amzing job cuz...YOUR ANIMEPUNCH!!! you did an amazing job last convention that we are still in awe **mental picture of three girls sitting around with mouth open** with the amazingness of last year. in fact two out of three would like to have are future wedding at one of your conventions.

Actually there was this Hotel nearby Columbus where it actually had a waterpark next door!!! Too bad AP is in March ^_^ It would be cool. Rail, you remember? It was on the way to Fieldcon's site I think...

Hey, out of curiosity (and I don't feel like starting a topic for this one question), since it was said that the cosplay/fanfic winners for AP 2006 get free admission to AP 2007. Does that still apply? Do we still have to do a pre-register?

Hey, yeah I remember that. Was that in Newark? It was cool ^_^ The hotel was like, part of the waterpark. Make for a good Swimsuit Cosplay Contest

I am glad to see you do have separate accounts. ^_~

Last note don't worry mike is actually quite good at figuring stuff out. He was able to get RBG and AP back together 3 weeks after the convention. On top of that AP was quick at settling a date and hotel so that he has time to work. Now with everything set he can base all of his actions off of the hotels set up.

Yeah, generally we have everything you'll ever need to know on the website. You shouldn't have to go to the forums to get the answers!
In good time the site will be updated to answer every potential question. We even give you a bus schedule!

Dude.. I just price checked the hotel.. Cheapest 2 person room is $74.99...Talk about friggen wallet rape. Please tell me were getting some sort of con discount? D:

$75? Isn't that less expensive than last year, or am I just used to the $100 plus that I pay at every other convention hotel that I go to?

I think it is cheaper than last year...and yes cheaper than most conventions...(Ohayocon you pay about 120.00 a night for a room total(after tax))

and THAT, is why I had to stay at a hotel 2 hours away from the con. -_-

I LOVE the hotel! the price for a room is so reasonable. and refrigerator in room at no extra cost YAY! the pool looks huge. it is a excellent hotel!
