I'd like to try out Maple Story, but they don't have it working for Firefox (or IE for Mac) yet. Why, I'm not sure. I should try doing the thing that tricks the site into thinking you're on another platform and/or using a different browser than you are and see if it works, but I'm not really curious enough to do that at the moment. But yeah, I try to go, and it yells at me to use Internet Explorer. I use Internet Explorer, and it yells at me... to use... Internet Explorer. Yeah. *shrug*

Maple is fun. I've been on it for over a year now. I've finally started a new character. Best part: it's all free!

Yeah. Sense I've installed maplestory I've had more viruses and hacking attempts then the entire time I've owned this computer.

I've haven't had any issues with Maple and hacking/viruses. When I didn't know about torrents, I used Kazaa and that's how I would get them. Do you have a good/decent virus protection?

LimeWire is better than Kazaa, but you still have to be careful about what you're downloading. There are still some things that are easier found on LimeWire than BitTorrent, music being one of them.

'course, having some form of virus protection is a must on Windows, although Norton feels far too bloated for me.

Norton is actually decent at finding things. If you want it to take them out though...yeah, good luck with that.

I'm on Broa for my main Mage charrie. Hayatou I believe is the name. I haven't played on that server in ages though.

Downloading h4x? I don't see how MapleStory could be to blame otherwise.

At any rate, what an addicting game. I started when they were still beta testing the global server a few years ago, then switched over to the Japanese version when the hacking on the global server started getting on my nerves. Too bad I don't have time to play anymore.

I'm not actually sure how torrents would have anything to do with MS messing up a computer, but I had thought the originial post on the matter was referring to the connection to MS being correlated with people attacking his computer, which just means weak security on MS's part. Also, says something about the community who plays the game. Not to mention hacking is relatively easy to prevent in a persistent world, it's sort of sad it exists.

There's no causality though, and his antivirus should be more than enough to prevent it all.
