How do you run a go tournament when you don't want to dedicate an area of your hotel that is already too small to something that could take like 8 hours, especially when most of the people playing won't want to be there all day either!

Perhaps a time slot? entrance on day1. semi finals on day2 and finals on day 3 or something to that effect? Depending on the number of people who want in of course.

I don't know if we'd have time enough for it to be in each skill level to be honest...but I don't think we're going to be that stupid as to be putting a beginner with a expert on it or like that.

I have a solution to the problem of a tournament. Rather than have it structured with brackets, we record games. So basically throughout the convention you can be playing games and reporting the wins and losses. At the end of the con we'll look at the data and determine a winner, or at least a final bout.
