Fieldcon Meeting. Friday, June 16th. 7:00 PM. 209 W 18th St (Math Tower Annex), Ohio State University, Columbus. That's the standard Animate building. We'll meet in the standard AP meeting room, the large lecture hall that isn't being used for the Animate showing. Anyone who is involved with Fieldcon in any way should attend. And anyone who wants to be involved should attend as well. We'll start at 7 and go for however long it takes to be prepared for this.

Also, if you want to help out at the con but can't make the meeting, shoot an email over to Staffing@animepunch.org and we'll see if we can use you. ^_^ Join up!

It will be the same time, just a different location. Probably on or near OSU campus. When I know for sure what the new location is, I'll post it.

Unfortunately, it looks like I won't be able to attend this meeting after all (unless the date changes). I will be in NY on 16th. Well, we'll probably have another meeting next week anyway.

I can attend if we get a 100% set place for this.

Location change announced. It will now be held at the Science & Engineering Library on OSU's campus, same time. It's a few buildings down from the Animate Building. If anybody needs detailed directions on how to get there and where to park, just PM me.

Not I. I can pick up 4 people on the way, but 2 seats may already be taken. And on my way would be Northeast Ohio and then anything close to I-71 between Cleveland and Columbus. Also, if anyone wants to ride with me, they'll have to be able to be out until Saturday night and have a place to stay Friday night/Saturday morning (although that could prolly be arranged). If you're needing a ride from that area, PM me and we'll try to work something out.

Sorry, I got out a half-hour later then planned, which stuck me in rush hour, then I hit a traffic jam on the way down, and we stopped to pick up food. So we ended up getting there at like 8:30.

Oh well, my parents opened up my house for any more meetings though, food included and anime and a big screen tv too. so yeah.

I m new to the con community and am trying to make friends into anime. I'm moving so really any friends would be nice. I'm moving from centerville wich is 2 hours away from columbus to Heath which is like 45 minutes away. I may be able to help plan or anything . FOr a 14 year old im a hard worker and my parents for the most part will drive me anywhere and give me a surprising amount of freendom. I talk to much dont i. I'm sorry

i never really liked centerville ill be a freshman at heath high . I totally challenge you to a talking contest. i dont do the whole welcome thread cause i like to just jump in. The library said there was a anime club meeting and i missed i guess there maybe more. i would to anythying to plan. wat if we spread a white sheet between two trees. Instent projection screen. wow thanks for the help. My brother wants to go to ikasucon just to buy stuff basically and i would only go on saturadya. if i went to fieldon i could camp friday night and maybe go home sunday. i dont know. I would have to buy a bigger tent cause all we have is a two person tent. and about 4 ppl would come. Me my bro and my dad and my atm of a grandpa I need help

If you want anime merchandise, you'll have to go with Ikasu. Fieldcon has no dealers. Also, don't expect the same caliber of events, showings, and gaming capabilities at Fieldcon. You're like trying to choose between a mech series and a horror series; both insanely cool and yet completely different. It boils down to what do YOU want to get out of the con.

Why is she making you choose...is it she doesn't want to drive you to both?

Note: Fieldcon has an extremely strict otaku-only policy. If you have to bring your parents to come to fieldcon then you shouldn't come. Ikasu might be more fun for you.

Since this isn't the first time this has come up, what does everyone think about making Fieldcon primarily an 18 and up event? I rather not run the risk of one soccer mom or overprotective/controlling dad showing up and ruining it for everyone.
