Title: Rocky Horror was cool...
Description: But heres my next idea! O_o P|-|34|2
Vincent - May 11, 2006 02:17 PM (GMT)
How about anime Grease?!? I dunno about you guys but I think that'd be funny.
Kaisermikeb - May 11, 2006 04:45 PM (GMT)
heh, that would be a very different direction than our other alternate suggesting, a clockwork orange, but it shall be considered!
pandad102 - May 11, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
I vote for a clockwork orange
Kaisermikeb - May 12, 2006 04:56 AM (GMT)
I vote Rocky again, I don't think we did that beast hard enough, and there are still a lot of directions to go with it that wern't even tapped last year!

Omg...this could get interesting to be honest xD
ladybiggs - June 27, 2006 02:50 AM (GMT)
Whatever you guys do... make sure to not opt for the alternative soundtracks again... it was sooo hard to do the Rocky callbacks.... it made me cry *sniffles*
saturn - June 27, 2006 01:50 PM (GMT)
Rail was all for the Grease one. The way he said it, it was really cool and I normally don't like grease. He was saying the cars could be Mechs!! ^_^
And what's the third one Vincent?
Vincent - June 27, 2006 04:22 PM (GMT)
Some people are saying a clockwork orange, some want to redo rocky, some want greese. Thus there are three.
Kuroshi - August 19, 2006 06:03 AM (GMT)
We must obviously do a broadway hit...
The famous Andrew Lloyd Webber-sama hit...
NEKOS
Charisa - October 7, 2006 07:08 AM (GMT)
Since 07 will be my first time here, there, wherever... I just must have what you are talking about explained to me. It sounds interesting. *obsessed with some broadway*
Kaisermikeb - October 7, 2006 09:17 PM (GMT)
Basically we tried to do a rocky horror picture show thing (not too dissimilar from what you can find in any city) but ours was a bit more postmodern. Basically I defined the spirit of rocky horror as the spirit of being thrown into someone elses character. All the characters in the original sort of get pulled into Frankenfurters little world, and none of them initially belonged there. For instance, Brad and Jannet are just a cute innocent couple, probably both virgins, certainly not depraved. They get forced into the roll of SM bi-sexuals and eventually grow into their new characters. From what we know about Columbia, it's reasonable to assume that most, if not all, of the people living at the mannor had the same experience.
That being said, we took it a step farther and did it in the second degree! We took a mix of anime (or as it turned out in practice, videogame) characters and put them into the rolls of the rocky horror cast. So no longer was Jannet a small town girl getting used to a deviant lifestyle; it was now, say, Card Captor Sakura getting used to being Jannet, learning to cope with her new husband/fiance who might be Sephiorth who is in turn becomming Brad, as the scope of what it means to be Brad and Jannet is being warped by Frank, who similarly is really just Goku comming to terms with being a sweet transvestite.
It's a tall order, and for a first attempt from an inexperienced cast with little prep work it was moderately successful. I'd like to try again with it, but the current director is more interested in other projects, and I'm not sure what's going to come of it all. Of all our signature events, it's probably the one most likely of being scrapped.
Hope that helps!

Rocky Clockwork Picture Grease? Now THAT'S Tony material.
Charisa - October 8, 2006 03:37 AM (GMT)
Thanks, Mike! That sounds really awesome, I hope you guys can get it to work this year, but if not, I'm sure you can find another that could work. Or just try a spinoff.

Yes... yes.. This COULD work! Ha.. I've already started planning...
Charisa - October 10, 2006 03:50 AM (GMT)
Oh boy, he's aiming for Hollywood.
Dude, what's WITH that penguin??? LOL
So, I fogot; where you guys gonna replace Rocky Horror, or go without anything?
DO NOT get pissed if you said it somewhere and I missed it. I'm dealing with the revamping of Kirafics, and am not in the mood. K? (yeah, I'm not always PG-13 coming from an 18+)
Kaisermikeb - October 10, 2006 04:01 AM (GMT)
I was about to let it go, but between the gramatical errors and the sheer audacity of it I had to...
Don't take attitude on these forums because you're too lazy to scroll back 3 posts, or to read a post that is more than 3 lines long. Nothing has changed in the 30 hours since I posted last. It was very informative and I told you everything there was to know about the subject.
And incase Vince threw you off, nothing he says should be taken as policy. He's a scrub, not a staffer!
There is a post in the welcome section telling you what to expect from these forums. Mercy is not listed there! Giving a good old fashion Sassing is what we do here!
Charisa - October 10, 2006 04:26 AM (GMT)
I wasn't intending an attitude. I was walking OFF before that happened. And informal english is not incorrect grammar. I'm an English major. I just got sick of typing the way I do my RPG. Never mind, from my standpoint means, I've backed off. So just LET me. I don't want this to get nasty. I wasn't lazy, either. Maybe I just felt like posting that. I had figured that someone who's been to the con would know. I was TOLD by one of you to look at waht other people were doing. SO I was. Now you don't want me to do what I was told? I'm confused. I wasn't being nasty. Why's everyone always DOING that? It's like there aren't any adults. If this is a site for kids, let me know. (no offense, but I have to actually ask that and know why people keep taking offense to everything I say. I didn't take offense, so there.)
I can't see why what I said was audacious. I was simply talking. Permit me my EMOTIONS. God knows you guys are allowed to. I'm so SICK of site leaders ordering me around. I wasn't even doing anything wrong. I was just posting. Sheesh. if you hate me that much, I'll go. And you'll feel bad because you lost my money AND my GROWN up ideas. Forget it. What ever happened to equality? Fine, I'm a useless pawn. Forget it.
I wasn't offended, but when I'm ATTACKED, I don't hide just because of someone's status. If you want me to apologize, then at least ASK me why I FELT BAD. Do you do this in real life, too? Talk about ONE -sided opinions.
I'm not looking for mercy. I won't GIVE it either, if somebody steps on me and is rude. I wasn't being nasty. NOW I AM BACKING OFF. So I won't read any replies, to keep this from going any farther. You want an opinion, I gave one. Don't want it now, do you? So I'm not giving any more. Forget it.
Kaisermikeb - October 10, 2006 04:44 AM (GMT)
Where =/= were.
Typo's like "fogot" are ignored and forgivable.
I don't expect special treatment because I'm a mod. I do expect you to have a little self respect though. Calm down before you post, then we'll listen to your grown up ideas.
Heh, it's been a while since someone has taken me seriously enough to get so pissed off! You should lurk more.
Charisa - October 10, 2006 04:47 AM (GMT)
I was calm, believe it or not. Calling me audacious wasn't exactly a remark for a calm person. *nods* And grammar happens when I don't edit every freakin' post I make.
Vincent - October 10, 2006 04:31 PM (GMT)
Hm... Buaha... Buahaha.. BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Kay. I'm done. o_o I have a cat that eats tater chips. o_O It refuses to come off my computer desk. It likes to attack my mouse and press buttons on my keyboard. And Mike, you know you really love me. Deep down in your raisen-like black heart!! D:

Actually, you may be mixing up the definition of audacious. One can be both calm and audacious.

Seriously, take it easy!
AP staff does care about your opinions, however
no here is going to hold back on they're opinions. No here is required to do anything because you couldn't be bothered, and not afraid to say they thought so. And yes that was rude.
Mike has never been rude back to you. Maybe not agree with your ideas(WHICH IS NOT A BAD THING. Not everything makes it.), but he's always responded in a mature and reasonable matter considering what he's responding too.
And while I'm at it...
The way you're talking back to the mods on here is not cool. Just because you were wrong and they pointed it out, or they disagree with an idea is not reason to throw a fit.
Have some respect for the AP staff here dammit! What they do is amazing! To say it completely equal would not be true--those guys put in hours more work on this con then the rest of us. What you've done is barely anything compared to them!
Yeah. You aren't better then them. By far. They aren't imcompatent, they're not only older, but have done this one time before. They know a lot more about this then you.
And if you refuse to acknowlege them with that and for the sake of your views of 'equality' and 'your maturity wish to keep treating them as you have had, even if your nice otherwise, for that...
You can get the hell out of here. And I wouldn't even give a damn.
Kaisermikeb - October 11, 2006 12:40 AM (GMT)
wow!
I've never seen you rant so hard before, Yuffie
Vincent - October 11, 2006 01:09 AM (GMT)
OSHIT I just had an idea! We could do the power rangers movie but with anime characters. xD It wouldn't involve singing, but it'd involve super crazy martial arts skillz!

and I got a pm saying she isn't even going to ap now, -sigh- oh well, we'll get more...

You have 12 hours to remove the two new sig images before I remove you, then we'll talk about your ideas.
EnishiYukishirolover - October 11, 2006 01:51 AM (GMT)
he can't keep the penguin one? That ones cute at least...
but if you must you must

Have to agree I like the penguin, and it's small enough that it isn't obnoxious. But I also think you should pick one or the other, and I'd pick the dancing chibi over the penguin.

I just..
Had an ideagasm...
What about.. Monty Python and the Holy Grail? o_o
edit: Why do I have this odd feeling this has already been suggested.. Oh well. In the case that it has, what about Monty Python and the Meaning of Life? xD
Alex - October 16, 2006 03:46 AM (GMT)
I like the Meaning of Life idea... Partly because Holy Grail is very overhyped in the world of Python in the US; and partly because I love Meaning of Life, less people have seen it, and more people SHOULD see it, because it's an excellent film.

I just saw Spamalot on Saturday. Awesome stuff.
/end off topic
Vincent - October 17, 2006 01:11 AM (GMT)
Yes.. And we could even include that bit in the beginning with the accountants!
Kaisermikeb - October 17, 2006 05:00 AM (GMT)
That wouldn't be art though... if we're going to do something we're going to do something awesome!
