Title: Rocky Horror Anime Style

KnuxieChan - April 4, 2006 03:19 AM (GMT)
Wasn't sure what everyone thought of our production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was sorta rushed and last minute.. but I definately had a blast with it. *was Rocky/Jeager*

Kyo was freakin' awesome as RiffRaff and Jen made the sexiest Frank ever. <3

So, how'd you guys like it? =3

0DDJ0B - April 4, 2006 04:15 AM (GMT)
It was interesting... I'll say that much. =P

I did find it hard to follow the script though, but then I heard that you all only had one practice run before throwing yourselves to the wolves, so to speak... I think ya'll did a good job for just going over things once.

KimchiCrusader - April 4, 2006 10:59 AM (GMT)
I thought it was really funny :P Always great to hear some of those songs! (Only one practice, that's insane o_o)

You guys also had it kinda tough for a crowd, I think--everyone seemed pretty drained after the cosplay and just wanted to sit around somewhere for a while. ^^;

Evangalen - April 4, 2006 07:16 PM (GMT)
Darn I was sleeping in the RBG HQ, this is what Teku gets for being slow.

Yeah, we had to really rush 'n stuff.. and it was really hard working with those punk versions of the songs, that's why our timing was off sometimes. (We wanted to use the originals, but.. someone wanted to use the punk covers instead as a surprise. -__o; )

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it though. I know I had a blast.

I thought the crowd was really nice. Esp. to me (Magenta/ opener candy girl) ^_^

I thought it was cool, and most importantly, everyone there had fun
I speak as someone who has yet to see the whole rocky horror picture show
:o yes, I said it, I know, I feel dirty now

Je_suis_moi - April 7, 2006 01:17 AM (GMT)
Why do you think I came to Anime Punch! in the first place? Just kidding!

But my goodness, it was hilarious. I was like all, push over old ladies to get good seats gung-ho, and I sat down in the second row near the aisle. The two ladies behind me had me rolling on the floor in laughter, eps. with the, "Taco taco taco taco/I want a burrito/Chilli chilli chilli, guacamole/Refried beans and rice."

I should definately glomp you, bleedingcherub, 'cuz you pulled me up on stage to do the Time Warp. Of course, I'm sure the Pocky didn't influence that at all. ;) Next year I have to be in that or I will go crazy! Oh, and then 'Riff Raff' sat down next to me and took off his sword from his and I was all like, "I hope he doesn't forget it!!!" but one of the ladies behind me picked it up an assumeably gave it to him.

But ahh! Next year - because it will happen next year, we should use the OST. I never really liked the Punk Show version. And I have the Original Cast (musical) CD, The Movie Soundtrack, The 25 Years of Absolute Pleasure CD and the DVD.

We should have done the Time Warp at the end, though.

Kaisermikeb - April 7, 2006 02:27 AM (GMT)
It had already gone over on time, so there couldn't be any curtain calls. As for the original music, for a number of reasons, some legal, some political, and some personal, the punk versions had to be used.

This is tentative, but we WILL be doing it again next year! No word yet on which score we'll be using, but no matter what it is we'll be sure to have fun with it!

The director has been chosen, he has a modest resume behind him, and is a senior majoring in film! More info to be released as we get ready to begin casting.

IronSandwich - April 7, 2006 02:59 AM (GMT)
I nominate myself as Eddie, because i believe I would make a great Meatloaf, I mean, monster. :D

KnuxieChan - April 7, 2006 06:20 AM (GMT)
If we do it again next year, I'm staying Rocky. I had such a blast as him. X3

Edit: Oh, and someone screamed while I was dancing to Rose Tint "You can't dance!" XD I didn't understand it at first.. but apparently Peter Hinwood isn't a very good dancer in the movie. ... Unless I really did suck at dancing. Oh well! I stayed true to my role! X3

Je_suis_moi - April 10, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
It's an Audience Participation line, honey. If you watch the movie, though, he really can't. He didn't even sing his parts; the guy who sang "Video Killed the Radio Star" sang it! (I think...) But you were amazing.

"I'm hiding, shhh!"

Yeah, I knew about Peter not actually singing. I didn't sing either. I can't. XD; God, I had so much fun though.

Je_suis_moi - April 10, 2006 01:45 AM (GMT)
Yeah, next year I am defiantely (and definately) going to be in it, whether the people in charge want so or not. I'll like friggin' storm the stage at every song or something...IDK...

Oh, and then, during, "Wild and Untamed Thing," I was like, "Kick-line! Kick-line! KICK-LINE, DAMNIT!"

...Yeah, I was the guy talking to you afterwards who said good job to you at least once. But you guys did do an amazing job. ...There's no age restriction/limit thingy, is there?

KnuxieChan - April 10, 2006 01:55 AM (GMT)
We tried the kick line, but my boots kept slipping around on the stage. That's why I was such a crappy dancer. (It fit the part!)

I'm actually a RHPS noobie.. so I really didn't know too much of the audience participation stuff.

As far as the age restriction.. Cloud wants people to be atleast 18. Some 14 year old asked to join as an extra, but we decided against it. (Her parents were at the con with her. We didn't want them freaking out. XD; )

Vincent - April 10, 2006 03:02 AM (GMT)
It was awesome and funny, I was sitting in the third row I think? I kept getting whacked in the knee with Jen's zipper or that..whatever its called she was wearing when she was chasing Rocky around the room  I got free candy though! w00t And if you count the free condoms( Yes, in their packages) I found on the floor the next day I got a lot of free stuff. Candy and condoms, what more can a guy want?!? Well..a 3 hour hentai DvD...But if you were giving those out some parents might have gotten mad O_o

Shinobihime - April 11, 2006 04:42 AM (GMT)
Sorry about the zipper thing, Vincent!
I did have a fun time with everyone, it was an interesting experience, for sure! I don't think we did so bad, considering we rehearsed once and I live 9 hours away from the rest of the cast!
Much love to all of you, and to everyone who came to see the show! :)

KnuxieChan - April 11, 2006 05:08 AM (GMT)
Too bad Cloud doesn't wanna do it next year ;.;

pandad102 - April 11, 2006 05:28 AM (GMT)
somone will run it

Kaisermikeb - April 11, 2006 06:59 AM (GMT)
Well, no matter what we would change directors anyhow. I don't want it to become predictable, so I think you can count on a different director every year. I also would want a more accessible director this time, and the guy we have lined up is local (and fucking awesome).

I am leaving the decision of whether or not to replace all the actors or not to the director as well, but I think if you want to re-apply you should probably choose a different role than you were last time, just to shake things up!

Since this event requires a lot of planning, expect to see info on auditions to be posted in the near future!

if you are interested, email Rocky@animepunch.org

pandad102 - April 11, 2006 11:09 AM (GMT)
very nice mike always active

RBGC-Ender - April 11, 2006 02:15 PM (GMT)
another thing is to change the play of what is being shown... no always Rocky Horror... i already have an idea to smash Rameo and Juile and your fav anie sucks together in to one thing

Kaisermikeb - April 11, 2006 07:25 PM (GMT)
wow... I'd be interested in hearing that plan!

KnuxieChan - April 11, 2006 08:31 PM (GMT)
Aw.. I loved being Rocky though.. XD

On another note: Ender's right. It'd be cool if we picked different events each year.

Oyaji - April 11, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
Priscilla, Queen of the desert...

Kyo_RBG - April 11, 2006 11:02 PM (GMT)
Well if you do it again mike I'd be more than willing to pick up Riff again if you need one. Otherwise I'm out, riff's my favorite character, I'm just sad I blew my voice out before the show because I actually can sing every line.

Aww, you still did an amazing job. Everyone did!

Hmm...1 + 1...So would it be okay if a kid were 16 but their parents weren't going to the con? (Say yes or I will frickin' kill you.) Anyways, I saw it...when I was like 13 or something. So...please say I'd be able to do it!

KnuxieChan - April 12, 2006 01:00 AM (GMT)
Yeah, and I'd be more than happy to be Rocky. I think that's the only character I actually fit.

As for the age thing.. it's up to whoever's gonna be incharge next time.

Kaisermikeb - April 12, 2006 05:12 AM (GMT)
The thought of Priscilla has come up once or twice, as well as a few other key productions.
It hasn't been entirely decided upon, but I think we'll end up going with Rocky. There are a few extra dimensions to the story we can add.
