Title: I need some manga Suggestions

Kag-ST - March 12, 2006 06:14 PM (GMT)
I like fantasy/sci fi or just about any genre. Stuff like berserk, or record of lodoss war. just start spewing them out.

Battle Royale, Alichino, Gunparade March, and In dream world. They're some good ones I really like.

Faris Kalin - March 13, 2006 08:54 AM (GMT)
For sci fi, I recommend Blame! I love the art style, and it has a nice cyberpunk/urban decay feel to it. For fantasy, I like Those Who Hunt Elves. I just really find the premise funny that out of all things to get transported to a fantasy world you get a world class actress, a school girl military nut, a buff martial artist with curry on the brain, and, oh yeah, let's not forget about the conveniently transported tank! Unfortunately, ADV has had volumes 8 and up on hiatus for about a year and a half now. It's still worth checking out though.

inuyasha_goth - March 13, 2006 10:39 PM (GMT)
I like the kingdom hearts manga.their the cheapest manga ive ever seen!its only 5 dollars a volume!

Kotoko - March 21, 2006 05:12 PM (GMT)
I like Juvenile Orion, it's a small set but good.

But don't forget, wondeful, yummy bishounens too xD

Great Teacher Onizuka for being the funniest thing I've ever read.
Hellsing for style and over-the-top, being-torn-limb-from-limb-and-eaten action.
Priest for being fantastic, western, and horrific all at the same time (though it is Korean)
Scrapped Princess for being an awesome fusion of both
Gankutsuou for Jouji Nakata and being visually stunning

kalajessta - March 22, 2006 12:48 AM (GMT)
Demon Diary... though it's Korean, it's one of the best out there.

Haaa so true i love it. How about Ayashi no Ceres. Kinda sci-fi

tobimaro - June 8, 2006 01:45 PM (GMT)
If you like sci-fi, you should try "Patlabor" and "Planetes"... They're not the "normal" sci-fi mangas... They describe the everyday life of people in a very realistic future. Personally I loved them...
If you also like some mistery, then you may try "20th Century boys" (if I'm not wrong, by Urasawa Naoki), which is more thrilling.

Kaisermikeb - June 8, 2006 09:24 PM (GMT)
I like you're taste in manga!

tobimaro - June 9, 2006 06:01 AM (GMT)
Thanks!

Detective Conan - January 12, 2007 02:24 PM (GMT)
Just about anyone can sink their teeth into Death Note. Awesome manga, I love it to death...pun fully intended.

"Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects--and he's bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer. With L hot on his heels, will Light lose sight of his noble goal…or his life?"

If you like bloody action, then you should check out Hellsing. That's a good vampire one. Death Note also rules, and Bleach is a really good manga.

yuesokka - January 12, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
if u want a cutesy cool manga about angels doing the son of satan go for wish by clamp it's only 4 books long and it's great! if u like sweet irony and sweet romance with pretty pictures

MelodiousNocturne - February 18, 2007 03:21 AM (GMT)
I love anything by Kaori Yuki.
She's my lover. (LOL)
Seriously, The Cain saga, Godchild, Kakumei Ludwig (not avabile in the States yet), and of course..Angel Sanctuary. <3

Um..Other then that, right now, I'm just reading NANA. <3

crknight29 - February 23, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
I just picked up Prince of Tennis...it is pretty good.

Wyatt - February 23, 2007 02:05 PM (GMT)
Do you mean legitimately? Or the way Hikaru no Go is good? I'm wary of anything that's primarily about sports, you understand.

rdhdtwns - February 24, 2007 01:07 AM (GMT)
I've been reading Osamu Tezuka things lately, namely Phoenix and Ode to Kirihito. Phoenix you might like with the futuristic tone of some of them.

If you like sci-fi/fantasy, you might be interested in horror too, for that I recommend Uzumaki (Junji Ito). It is about a town's obsession with spirals. That's all I can say ^_^

On the other hand I've started Nodame Cantabile (by Tomoko Ninomiya) which is rather slice of life, but I'm a music nut so it appeals to me.

Kaisermikeb - February 24, 2007 08:12 AM (GMT)
Hajime Ueda is owning my soul right now in the form of Q-kochan (this is the guy who did the FLCL manga, btw)

I'm also reading a gundam sidestory done by Mikimoto (Macross)

Lothlin - February 24, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
Ahahah, I just ordered three new manga, two of them by the CLAMP. I'm such a ridiculous CLAMP fangirl that it really isn't even funny.

The third is Air Gear by Oh!Great. I'm really beginning to like his style, to the point where I'm thinking I might pick up Tenjo Tenge in the future.

Bukkake Tsunami - March 20, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
I'd recommend Berserk and Gantz for awesomeness and action (plus fantasy and semi-scifi respectively).

Kairi029 - March 21, 2007 01:18 AM (GMT)
My friend gave me FLCL. It's pretty bizzare. Then again, what manga isn't? But still, the guy grew a penis out of his head that turned into a robot...

Torouh - December 28, 2007 05:05 AM (GMT)
I just got volume one of "Beauty Pop" today, and it's really good! A really unique story idea.
Also R.O.D: Read or DREAM (Not die) is really freaking great if your like me and read obsessively. Its about three sisters who run a detective agency, can control paper and help people recover stolen books. Its kinda funny, all the different cases. (I imagine its hard to think of different crimes involving books. lol)

KaiserMikeB - December 28, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
As hard as it is to come up with plots revolving around books for every case, it's not the worst.

The people who made St. Tail had to find a situation where stealing something would better someones life EVERY EPISODE!

Yuffie - December 28, 2007 06:36 PM (GMT)
With the aid of a disturbing hedgehog...

Torouh - December 28, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
Lol sounds cool! Its a manga right?

Yuffie - December 28, 2007 11:35 PM (GMT)
The manga is what I know, but I think there may be an anime.

smokie - December 28, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
Am I the only person who loves Crossbone Gundam? I've only read the first volume but I long for it to hit our shores. Yet there is my fear that it probably never will.

KaiserMikeB - December 29, 2007 12:33 AM (GMT)
The rule of thumb is all Gundam will come to America, it just takes forever.

Since it's the definitive version of F91 and what not, I'm sure it will eventually show up. I too anxiously await it.

And yes, there is a Saint Tail anime. It's adorable

vamninrate - December 31, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
the orrigional elf quest was good, tho it was just a comic book.

Yuffie - December 31, 2007 03:40 AM (GMT)
Not anymore!

My school library just got about 7 volumes in graphic novel form, nice hardback. Tt actually kinda ruins the format to be squeezed into half pages unfortunately.
